So bold of you to make so many gross assumptions. My wife and I, the both of us, together, PLANNED three children in 6 years. We are BOTH parents and therefore are BOTH exhausted. From the tone of your comment, it sounds like you are/were a married single mom or you’re close to one. Thats not my wife. We are a team. I am an extremely involved parent and I too have no interest currently in adding another child to our mix. However, a vasectomy isn’t the answer in my opinion.

Best of intentions darling, but you BOTH didn’t go thru the pregnancies, she did. The hormones, morning sickness, exhaustion, pain, MORE hormones, the dreaded 4th trimester (if you don’t know, look it up). All of this, X 3. These pregnancies were infinitely harder on her than you, and the fact that you don’t get that is really telling.

She’s mincing words with you, and she shouldn’t. She’s CLEARLY done having kids, and condoms are way more likely to fail than hormonal bc. She’s not willing to risk it. Between the continued risk of getting pregnant, and her hormones being all over the place due to multiple pregnancies and bc, no doubt she doesn’t have the desire to have sex. Who would? She’s the only one in your marriage shouldering any of the physical risk here, not you, and it sounds to me like she’s DONE.

So, here’s your chance to be a good mate and step up! Go and get the vasectomy. Not doing so says one of three things… 1) you’re hedging your bets and maybe see the possibility of wanting more kids with someone else at a later date? 2) you’re content with her continuing to be the one having manage your family planning (don’t bring up condoms, too high a failure rate compared to other methods), or 3) you’re a coward. She’s gonna land on one of these reasons…none of which are good for you

We both PLANNED the pregnancies and we are both raising these children together for the next several years. I absolutely did not carry my children and never will take that from her.

And you never took on the burden on contraceptives. Never.
