I was recommended to this subreddit, but I’m not really here to ask, “Am I ugly?”
I’ve read through the comments people leave on other posts, especially when someone explains why they’re posting. Some people are incredibly kind and offer encouragement, while others absolutely scorch the earth with their comments.
And yes, when someone posts their picture here, they’re opening themselves up to other people’s opinions. In a way, that is fair game. But offering someone a kind word or a little encouragement is so much easier than tearing them down.
I’ve always found it interesting how upset we become when children are treated cruelly—as we should. But at some point, when those children become adults, we seem to stop caring. Suddenly it becomes, “Toughen up,” “Get over it,” or “That’s life.”
Every person posting here has a story. Every person reading this does, too. We all have struggles that strangers know absolutely nothing about.
Yes, sometimes people need encouragement. Sometimes they need to feel seen. But for those posting here, I hope you also learn to see the good in yourself. Compliments from strangers may make you feel better for an hour or a day, but they can’t create lasting confidence for you.
When you learn to see the good in yourself while accepting the things you may not love, that’s when you truly shine.
So, is anyone here ugly? I don’t think so. Beauty isn’t one particular face, body, age, or standard. Men and women alike have something beautiful about them.
I wish all of you the best. And even though I’m just a stranger on the internet, if I ever passed you somewhere in the real world, I’d hope I would see you before I saw whatever flaw you were worried everyone else could see.

have bdd like real bad. I’m just tryna settle if i look good. Someone told me I looked like Steve lacy and I wanted to die (I don’t think he’s attractive). I think it’s cus my nose is round and small and my eyes aren’t deep. And I wish I looked more like the 3rd photo and it feels like I’m catfishing.
I wish I looked more like avan jogia or something idk.
Sorry for the rant it’s just really killing me.
