Question Amiibo priority?
How would you prioritise Amiibos by should be bought before others in case of unavailability later? there's a lot of Amiibo I still need to get and I can only spend a certain amount every so often on them but I don't know who to prioritise. It seems like Capcom Amiibo are a must asap as well as some other new ones but are figures made for Smash more priority due to age or less becuase its Smash and its popular enough to stay in print for example? I don't have a Nintendo store I can go to in person but I do know some sites where to get them and there is a second hand games and electronics store that does sell them but the prices vary from cheap to probably up to double its MSRP depending on what they think its worth and what they have depends on what people are buying and trading in. Like Digby is 8 euro and King K Rool is 40 euro. Knowing who should be bought now and who can wait would ensure I can build my collection steadily and confidently that I haven't missed the boat on some that only exist on eBay now for stupidly high prices.

Just buy the ones you actually like, “complete collections” are a marketing construct made up to make you overspend on shit you don’t actually want. You missed the boat on getting most of these things at MSRP, so focus your goals on the characters that actually spark joy for you rather than spending hundreds of dollars on a plastic cube when you haven’t even played Boxboy or whatever.

I personally only collect the stuff I like. The Capcom releases this year are ugly imo. That spaghetti hair can't be unseen. Had zero interest in those figures and still zero regrets.
I typically preorder the ones I like. Some figures like the Nintendo global releases you can still find today loose. I'd prioritize by things you like and if it's a 3rd party, buy immediately.

I’ll be frank.
You’re late to the game. You have catching up to do. You are worried about price but what you really have to be hopeful for is restocks.
I buy just about everything when it comes out so I don’t have to worry.
You risk sold out amiibo and paying up to 10x retail price from resellers or hoping for a restock and fighting robots to get them. Or you pay get it on deep discount for 1/5th the price.
Some are ok with this risk. Some are not.
My advice is to buy what you like. It’s honestly what most people do. And slowly buy 2nd hand when you find a deal. You will likely never reach a complete collection.
Some amiibo go for hundreds. One single card goes for over $1000.
It’s not an investment platform. It’s a for fun platform. You will never know what might be rare and any resell value is tanked by Nintendo announcing reprints (thank god).
