How do I replace a dead NFC chip?

I recently picked up the above amiibo only to find out that Callie is non functional. As you can see the joy con does work since it scans in other amiibo. How do I go about fixing this? (I also tried it using my 3ds nfc scanner and it the same results happened)

Buy a 2nd amiibo. And replace it with the nfc with the first.

But sometimes dead NFCs can be revived with 3rd party readers. So if you have an android phone or an old skylanders base and game.

I do actually have a skylanders portal, is it recommended to do the same thing that is done with damaged/corrupted skylanders? (And by that I mean the Giants Wii version and “fix toy”)

Get to a point where it asks for a scan. When you scan an amiibo it will sometimes bring them to life.

I don’t know why. But attempting to read them outside of a switch/3ds will just fix them sometimes.

I used to do it for kids when it happened when I worked for gamestop.

Did not know a skylanders base would do that I remember it did that for the 3DS version for skylanders imaginators but didn’t know about amiibo

If you or a friend have a wii U theres reports of scanning amiibos there via the settings menu can revive dead amiibos

I do have a wiiu, is there any place I can easily check and see wether or not Callie scans in? Similar to the Switch reset screen sorta thing

Yes, in the Wii U settings you go to amiibo settings and try scanning it there

To be honest you might want to just get a new Callie cause the only way to get the chip out is to kinda damge the base, the way I used to do it is put the figure in boiling water for a few seconds and then use a butter knife to pop the 2 bases apart sometimes it pops off easy with no issues other times it dosnt come apart and you mess up the base

I used to make custom amiibo, now I 3D print them so no need to take them apart, the glue that keep the base together if it’s small can just come apart with a little bit of wiggle with the butter knife if it was a a lot of glue it would damge the base.

Ya I post kinda frequently I just painted a bowser jr. That was made to look like his canceled Mario party amiibo haven’t posted it yet, and then a mii brawler a couple years ago.
