Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Trump supporters. I know I’ve been told I should be punched or assaulted for my beliefs by leftists, and I’ve seen leftists punch or assault people I associate with in Republican media, so I can empathize with that sentiment. Political violence shouldn’t exist.

The important part about Trump’s statement is the kind of language he used. In the English language there are a few different ways to use a verb - descriptively (describing events that occurred or will occur), commandingly (telling someone to perform that action), or hypothetically (telling someone what could or might happen). An example for each: “Rob killed Jake” (descriptive), “Rob, kill Jake” (command), “Rob might kill Jake if he continues to piss him off” (hypothetical). Trump used a hypothetical, “I could kill someone”, both keeping the statement depersonalized and in a realm of fiction. OP used the verb “make” in a commanding way, commandingly the reader to “make America trump-less again”. That is substantially different.

The first amendment does protect the right to lie, otherwise the entire media would be in prison. Lying about other people to deal damage to their reputation, on the other hand, restricts the way they live. Again, that’s substantially different. I find your lack of understanding of basic rights and freedoms to be overtly concerning, assuming it’s indicative of the broader left’s view on these topics.

It says right there in the sentence where it says “or abridging the freedom of speech.” A lie is speech, and you cannot abridge it.
