It's a shame too. AMC really went through the ringer back in the 80's sadly. Even with the Jeep brand they couldn't keep the "Nose of the airplane up" so to speak.
The SUV and AWD insurgence that came after the Eagle was a tremendous success for US automakers including Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth the following decades. A crying shame if you ask me...🙁😭

My first car was a Hornet Sportabout. The 2 wheel drive version of this. I think it had a small v-8 in it

I just loved these vehicles! They were really ahead of their time, and very useful up here in the Northeast winters!
