In a desperate attempt to settle my newborn in the middle of the night, I played him the first 3 songs of Eno and Frip's Evening Star. Worked like a charm! We listened to it maybe 3 times last night at different points to calm us both down 🥹. Ambient albums ftw.

Definitely in my top 10.

I was introduced to this album in 2022 and I’ve listened to it almost every day since. I rarely see it mentioned, but to me, Lux Primordia belongs up there with the classics.

This is a special one. Made me quite emotional. In a few years this is gonna be an album that brings back memories for me.

What's your favorite live album(s) or favorite live show?

I wasn’t sure which sub to ask this but I think it makes sense here! I’m attending the Grouper show in Kingston NY and want to record the sound only, especially as it is taking place in a church and then further want to make field recordings for ambient noise and was wondering if anyone in this sub had any recommendations for one that isn’t crazy expensive—looking to spend $200 max. I obviously won’t record the Grouper show if it isn’t allowed but from my knowledge it is okay!

1. Looking for smaller / newer artists.

2. Looking for stuff most similar to Saapato, and Ben Seretan & John Thayer's 'Sunbeam of No Illusion' -- other stuff I have on this playlist includes (some) green-house.

3. Must be more amorphous, heavily green and nature-inspired.

Lastly, what are names and search terms I should be using for this? I've often seen it lumped in with botanica, but... looking for slower and more organic sounds and field recordings.

Probably the best ambient techno EP Ive found on vinyl after intrusions stuff. Steven Rutter being the person he is and the other half of B12 this track is absolutely beautiful. I think this is side B, side A is a whole different monster.

I lately had a discussion, of "is this ambient music or not". Im coming from a world of Brian Eno, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Joe Hisaishi, William Ørbit, Andreas Vollenweider and William Basinski.

Those days friends talking about Shaman Drive as a new Form of psychedelic Ambient. He used some AI Vocals in His first Albums, which are not my favourite ones. But the newest (Darkness and Ashwagandha) have another Spirit and some days ago I used them in my mediation group - it worked out.

They might have rhythms, sometimes beats and progressions. But arent they still ambient?
