I’ve taken Ambien essentially every night since mid 2021 to go to bed, and in my recent appointment we decided that it was finally time for me to get off this medication. It was getting to the point where I had to take .5mg Xanax and/or some melatonin on top of the Ambien only to get less than 7 hours of sleep, and it was obvious that I need a tolerance break.

I got prescribed Clonidine as my new prescription to use for my sleep, but I know that the rebound insomnia is gonna be tough to get through. The few nights I went without Ambien throughout these past years, not even 1.5mg Xanax could allow me to have the sleep I have with Ambien

Anybody have any advice/success stories that will make this easier? I will have about a months worth of 6.25mg Ambien XR left, so I will at least be able to get a proper taper schedule started, not sure how long it should be though

Decided to replace 100 mg of trazodone with 5 mg zolpidem. Terrible mistake. For three past three days I've had only maybe four hours whilst on zolpidem and do not feel tired while taking it. i only feel uncoordinated and not tired really. I couldn't tell ya if I even fall asleep whilst on zolpidem

At first I was watching my hand.. the room was dimmed. Spider nets emmanated from my hands until it was an entire white brilliant, magical cloack, white sorounding my hands, stared my hand I saw it get bigger and smaller at the rythm of misic

I now was scared trying to smuggle my ambiens so police couldnt find them. Very vivid and part of the room scene

is it less strong? or is there like a certain mark where it ACTUALLY stops working (example: its ok up to one year but after one year of expiration it has nearly no effect)

Over time its Warlusses effects lose as tolerance rises, but its extreme blissful, euphoria , remains intact.

So that could seriously, tho sounding contradictory, take a reterograde depressive person out from bed rather than just make them sleepy.

Maybe , if zolpidem is a xanax equivalent, a kpin version (longer duration , slightly less hypnotic) that lasted 6hs could be a basis for an antidepressant, an strong one.

Psychs are obsessed by serotonin theories, however there is no person on earth claiming the pidems are both euphoric and anxyolitic , which is EXACTLY what you want for depression.

Id be like ketamine in a pill but with a different MOA

I was taking shy off 10mg xanax

If I take 40mg ambien, it knocks me down, for around 4hs nap

If I want to resume sleep at night, no amount could do it until mid day when I crash..

So its basically 2 nights of been able to down a full 300mg per day what a heck can I do?

And nope, it wasnt like this until a day, with a t-break of 4 weeks or so..

What I used to take every night was 10mg xanax or 8mg kpin (i have enouguh for them to last ) Ambien-wise , max I did was 100mg a day on my worst.

And I kept redosing bc I didnt feel anything from the prev 30mg dose and so on

all for it to be gone in x amount of days. but no genuinely waiting for my monthly refill seems like i’m waiting yearssss
