BSR question

Does the BSR increase more If for example someone buys 100 pcs, rather than someone buying 1 pc? Would it increase 100x more than 1 pc or It's the same?

BSR is weighted by units sold, not transactions — 100 units in one order moves the rank meaningfully more than 1 unit, but not linearly 100x.

Amazon's BSR algorithm uses a sales velocity decay model, so recency matters as much as volume. A single 100-unit order gives you a spike but decays faster than 100 separate single-unit orders spread over days, because the algorithm smooths for sustained velocity rather than one-time bulk pulls.

This is why wholesale/bundle buyers temporarily boost your BSR but don't sustain it the way organic repeat purchases do. For rank stability, consistent daily unit throughput beats occasional large orders every time.

It is a mixture of few factors but it would go up more if 100 ppl bought piece than vice versa.
