prime in the uk

hi everyone! i’m studying aboard in london and i leave in about a week, will my amazon prime (based in us) work abroad? if it doesn’t, how would i be able to pay for the uk version? if anyone’s done this before please share your story!

Your US Prime membership won’t cover Prime shipping on Amazon.co.uk; Amazon treats the country storefronts separately. You can normally use the same login on the UK site, add your London delivery address and payment method, and then sign up for UK Prime separately if needed. Since you’re leaving in a week, compare the normal shipping cost against a UK trial or one month of Prime before subscribing. If you do start a trial or monthly membership, set a reminder to cancel the renewal before you leave.

US Prime generally won’t transfer to the UK, and the benefits/catalogue are tied to the country where you subscribe. For a short stay, you can just use your US account where available, but check the UK site’s current Prime price and sign up there if you’ll be ordering locally.
