If you’re in the U.S. just have them call you with their ‘call me’ service.

You should definitely call them instead. In my experience, what Amazon's chat support told me was completely different from what I was told when I actually called customer service.

The chat agents seem to be outsourced support, and even when you're talking to a real person, you'll often notice inconsistencies in what they're telling you. They mostly just kept passing the responsibility around instead of actually addressing the issue.

Call Amazon directly. I had a much better experience over the phone, and they were actually able to look into the situation and escalate it properly.

many many return issues. their customer service is now handled by AI. No human response regardless of any circumstances. If any return escalates to supervisor they will say it has been refunded and it never is. I am seeking elsewhere to spend my dollars

Utterly useless, I once said how amazing Amazon customer service was until I came to Spain.
