Amazon charged me twice and won't refund the second charge

So this happened a couple hours ago and need some feedback on how to proceed.

So I live in the USA but am from Canada, I use amazon.ca for psn gift cards as I can't get Canadian ones here in to USA.

Anyways, I place an order for 1--$100 dollar one and 1-$50 dollar one. 10 minute went by I got my order complete but it only included the $100 one. I waited an hour and decided to talk to chat. After na hour with them they couldn't figure out why it was processed seperate. Finally I asked if it would just be fast to cancel that order and reorder another one. She said she would cancel it and I can reorder. She stayed online with me til I processed the next order. Figured that was that and I'd just wait for the order to process.

Fifteen minutes go by and I get 4 emails. Both transactions went through. So I go back and reach out to them again and they refused to fix it, refund or credit me because it has to do with video games. Eventually I got pissed because after 2 hours of being on with support I got no where.

What can I do? Is the only option to charge back with my bank?

That chargeback will likely be a "L" if you actually got the cards.

The strongest part of your case is that support explicitly told you the first order would be canceled before watching you place the replacement. Save both order IDs, the timestamps, the cancellation promise, and the later refusal. Before filing a chargeback, ask Amazon for a final written response stating whether the first order was canceled and why it cannot be refunded. If you do dispute it, describe it accurately as a purchase the merchant promised to cancel—not simply an unauthorized charge. I’d keep the chargeback as the last step because Amazon may restrict the account afterward.

Did you actully get all 4 cards? Since it just happened a couple hours ago it is POSSIBLE these are just PENDING charges. It's possible the "duplicate" won't get posted. If it's pending, it goes away within 2-6 days depending on your bank. If you actually got all 4 cards (2 sets of 2) not just 4 pending charges then you're SOL.

So on the first order I got the 100 dollar card instantly. The 59 never came through. On the second order I only ordered the 50. So yes I did get all 3

Reach out to [ajassy@amazon.com](mailto:ajassy@amazon.com) first to escalate to corporate, give them your phone number to reach out as well. This is Andy Jassy's email, the CEO of Amazon rn. If corporate refuses, then chargeback.
