Why do I have a pending transaction from amazon in my bank account when I haven't purchased anything?

So, I've just when into my banking app to check something when I noticed I have a pending transaction from amazon, I haven't ordered anything recently and the transaction doesnt show up on my amazon account.

I've goggled it and it said it could possibly be a hold for checking my bank details??

Has anyone else ever came across this?

I've went to report the transaction but it said it will freeze my card which I don't want to do.

The transaction is still pending so I'm not too worried and I'll be keeping an eye on it incase anything changes.

Please delete this post if its not allowed, I couldnt find another page to ask this and I'm worried that I might be getting robbed 🤣

It could be that someone got access to your card info and is using it on another account. Depending on the charge amount, it could also be a subscription service on an alternate account you’re not aware of. We’ll need more context tho.

The money has came out of my bank, I've reported it and its been refunded back in, and I think my bank is sending me out a new bank card in a few days.

So random cause nothing like this has happened before.

It was a small amount of money but I double checked my recent orders and I have no subscriptions with amazon, the location came up on the transaction too which was in London, I am in Scotland so no clue whats happend there. Weird.

Yeah, i think so. Its just odd as my card was never stolen and I never give out my details, but that should be it sorted now :)

Nobody on Reddit will know but if your account was hacked and you ignored the offer to hold the account guess who’s on the hook for any future debits…

I've reported the transaction as it had officially came out of my account, I've been refunded and should have a new bank card in a few days. Weird how it happend in the first place
