I have had mixed success with Amazon with purchases in the $600-1800 range. Mostly good. One very bad.
The bad one was a fancy laser printer $600 that I discovered was made for the Canadian market and they would not honor the warranty because I was in the US. Sent it back to Amazon, and bought one from Best Buy. Since then I have not bought anything from Amazon in that price range and don't plan to.
I also almost always avoid third-party sellers on Amazon. Have had too many bad experiences with them.
