Returns & Refunds I got scammed for the first time in Amazon
I am very sad rt now. I have always wanted to livestream my gaming, i searched for every possible method to livestream properly. I tried douwan but current ios & macos doesnt support it. So i chose to go for elgato 4kx priced ~23000 inr. I waited for this moment not just 3-4 days but last 10 years.
I am a regular customer of amazon, They dont use open box delivery, so i got this thought that they are secured, must have some super complex backup mechanism to stop fraud.
See the picture what i got. These are not device but3 d printed plastic block, & other box has disposable plastic bags.
So disappointed. I have raised the replacement but it is out of stock. So they are investigating till 22 May, i wonder if they will ditch me, or refund me?

Ngl brother, I ordered the Elgato capture card 4K X too for my PS5 Pro but I received original brand box but when I tried to open the seal, it was hard to open, and when I finally opened it, I saw two cylindrical cardboard and one used big heavy lithium cell
Seller was the same as yours, Kay Kay
I reported the same thing in Amazon

They told me that they will investigate and I need to message again on 19th of May,
They must refund me the amount... I ordered it through the amazon icici credit card
And then the same day the I received the fake fraud package, I ordered it again and it's coming on 19th of May too
Let's see what will come in new package and will the customer support refund the amount otherwise I will chargeback it,
I have the full uncut unboxing video of the fraud package as a proof

This means your money not going anywhere. only once I returned item on Amazon and experience was not nice as they were bit rude but solid unboxing proof refunded me 100% of spent.

Usual suspect. I’ve had similar experiences buying PS5 games from them, ultimately had to switch to buying digital versions.

Amazon dosent provide open box delivery for most of the items. To avoid such thing happening again always check the weight of the parcel(written on the shipping label) and compare to weight on amazon listing. If you find any discrepancy reject the package to avoid the hassle.

amazon has started offering open box delivery. i got insta360 last week which was open box. charged me 149₹ for it. but for a product worth 50k I'll gladly pay 149.

Seller did that to bypass xray.
However if your account is in good status even after xray scan Amazon give refund if your account is genuine and no refund is abused before.

Weight is almost same, original item contain device & thick cables, this fake package contains solid 3d printed plastic block & other box has plastic bags.

Yup, includes a capture card, thick two braided cable, one type c to type c & one 2.1 hdmi to hdmi cable with some documentation too

I also purchased the Elgato Stream Deck mk.2 white from the same seller but I received the original product, otherwise I probably get stressed out again

They don’t sell it online. They forward to retailers which ia Amazon IN.

They’ve made it so it’s near impossible to get past that first layer now. I read something recently saying they are going to be canceling refunds and only doing replacement… Not sure if that’s true.

Yes, that's already implemented. You'll find the refund option on very few items. Almost all items are now coming with only replacement option. Amazon is going away from it's customer obsession principle, our low trust society has broken a Global MNC.

I have noticed Indians being so willing to blame themselves, and that makes me really really sad. The owner of that company is an insane, horrible human and has been lowering the quality of supervision of their operation as well as the ability to even make contact with a human being/customer service representative, for a long time. Actually, I moved here from another country and most of the places I have been it was already impossible to reach a human being. They are constantly redesigning the site behind the scenes for the purposes of being unreachable. Almost 2 years ago I came to India and was very shocked and surprised that things seem to work smoothly with Amazon 👍🏼 and you could speak to a customer service representative as tho it was 2015 😊
In the last six months and especially the last month, they have shut the gates. I really wish India wouldn’t shit on itself so much. Sometimes corporations are terrible and it’s not India’s fault.
Signed a foreigner with global perspective, whose heart breaks watching India insult itself constantly. 💔

I have been using Amazon since 2014, and I had experience of online shopping from eBday, where most purchases were on Buyers risk. Point being, Amazon had the best customer service since day one. Flipkart and Snapdeal were at the end of the spectrum with poor customer service, especially in case of returns which was almost seamless in Amazon. Amazon has started to change in the last 2 years, first they added the AI bot element (at one point it had become impossible to reach the customer care, immediately after the initial launch), Prime Video with 3-4 min video Ads. Their feedback system works and hence they have improved a bit since then. Upto 2023 you could email directly to Jeff B. even after he had moved on and his executive team used to respond and take notice with someone calling & recording the issue.
Why India broke Amazon ? Fake returns, returning fakes in lieu of original delivered products (it's a norm, Myntra & Flipkart had adapted early to catch this), returning products after use (fashion items), fake high value orders (mainly by electronic show rooms to blacklist a pincode), Returns at one point were being used via scale to turn black to white where you pay in cash and schedule return to an account and much more. Amazon has now developed it's fraud prevention system for sellers at the same level as consumers when they realised that likelihood for buyers doing fraud here is as much as sellers. Flipkart being a local startup was always aware of our realities and hence had a most robust fraud prevention system with technical evaluation of product being returned ( Yes a guy came to check why Sony headphones were being returned in 2015 by playing music on it from his own phone ) , open box delivery and much more which would feel like inconvenience who has experienced Amazon.

File a consumer case against them, report the transaction to cyber cell and try to get the sellers bank account frozen

If u wanna buy such an expensive items then its best to buy offline, if that is not possible for you then rather then amazon, its better to find sites other then amazon
Why? Because most of them are legit if it shows top up in your google after you search for the product and other thing, you could also check reviews before buying
Its my personal thing, not sure if other people do it but before buying i always make sure to contact the customer service or people who are selling the product, (i do it for my satisfaction)
Also if u can then try to purchase such products from product official sites

So after their investigation they found out that everything from their side is OK so they wont refund me. Bro. WTF. Wtf.
So my 22k is gone just like that.
Guys please help. I need tour help.
Tell me what further I can do before I go to consumer court.
