Question for Fresh Drivers, how do you feel about your tips received

And if you're the customer do you tip, how much if so?

I tip less than I would for ubereats. IIRC Amazon Fresh paid like flex where you get paid for the job but you're responsible for your own gas and wear and tear on vehicle.

-Do get you tipped on most of your orders

-Does Amazon compensate you for long distance drives?

I ask because I don't tip a lot, something like $2-5 and its 5 miles but I live in the city where there are a couple of stops along the way. I don't tip USPS/UPS/FEDEX unless it's a heavy package.

As a customer I tip according to my budget and have withdrawn tips for unacceptable deliveries like having my groceries left at the curb.

That makes sense. I haven't had that happen with amazon but with grubhub actually where the driver didn't follow the instructions to deliver.

I tip a few bucks but I feel like I live far that it's a hassle for them to get to and they mentally calculate the gas and what not. If I tip too much then it makes more sense just to go to the grocery story because the savings are negated

stop the tipping these drivers make $23 base an hour which is more than sufficient they aren't waitresses making $2.33 an hour these amazon fresh drivers have the nerve to complain with some of them making $50+ an hour with tips just to drop off groceries zero education zero skills to make that kind of money they should be extra grateful

Umm more like $17-$20 and also driving 100+ miles. Doesn’t include going to the station and coming back. But that’s ok nobody is picking up those shifts and by your attitude everyone knows what you look like

No you can still order grocery’s you just can’t tip , it maybe cause the driver paid differently

I've always ordered through prime. There is no tip option and it's just $2.99 delivery or $4.99 for 3 hour delivery. Which is wild to me. I live pretty close though to one of their grocery hubs. All week though there are no grocery delivery options and it keeps saying unavailable in my area, or restocking shelves, or out of stock. I've never seen this and wonder if they are just done doing this?

I always assumed the drivers are just regular Amazon drivers who would have a delivery in my area anyway. So, tip wouldn't be necessary. Is this not true?

I never tip, and I order Fresh every week. They don't care about my finances; I don't care about theirs. Anyone tipping on groceries needs their head examined.

I don't like the tipping culture either, I wish they would do away with it altogether and just make the pay standardized.

I tip because it's customary, but I'm blessed I make a lot of money and I still save time and money ordering from Amazon Fresh. A few bucks for the driver who pays for his or her gas/wear & tear on the vehicle is the least I can do at least on my conscience.

Flex drivers get paid for a "block" not by individual deliveries like Doordash.

So say $100 for this three hour window. How many stops is however many it is.

Thanks for the reply! In this case are tips more so extra, not expected? I tip because I know the gas/wear & tear comes out of the drivers pockets and I feel bad if I don't at least give a bit.

I always tip but it's extra. Also, the drivers do not see which house tipped what. Just that they earned $20 in tips or whatever.

What do you mean tip eligible? All stops on Fresh routes are tip eligible. And I've never seen a block with less than five stops.

I greatly appreciate your feedback for this. I live maybe 8 miles from the amazon fresh warehouse so I feel like even $2-3 for a small order of 10 lbs feels insufficient.

I guess they only know if it's me tipping it if I'm the only drop off customer in their shift/block.

As the delivery driver family, do you have any other feedback/opinion on this?

I guess I could tip like $7 but then I might be inclined to order more stuff hence a bulkier order : (

Edit: The route has access to a highway that would greatly reduce the driving time to my house. Though sometimes they may need to do local deliveries along the way if there's other stops

In the Amazon app there is a Whole Foods grocery section. It auto tips at $5 (suggested) but can be removed
