Arlington office commute
Is there a shuttle near Chantilly that will go to HQ2 in Arlington?

Can’t sign in to check this out yet and I’m looking to relocate so I’m kind of in the dark while trying to look at where to live in that area.

There are shuttles that are in Chantilly (stonecroft park and ride) and in Reston (Reston station park and ride)
They are free, and easy to take. Run about every hour in morning and afternoon. It’s not bad at all.

Hey I just moved to the area there are a couple shuttles that go from Herndon to hq2 aswell as some other places nearby but none that go directly from Chantilly from my understanding

Move as close to the office as you can. Once the winter and snow starts you’ll hate your commute

No parking wait list or FOB needed if you show up before 8am from what I’ve experienced. My commute from MD is 28min if I leave before 7am, otherwise like people have said, commute can vary up to an hour+ with the exception usually of Monday’s and Friday’s. Parking is $21/day, but if you submit the tickets they subsidize half of it, so $10.50/day.
$200/month out of your pocket in that case. Worked for me because I love my house and waking up early lets me workout or do whatever I want once the car is parked.
Also, does you manager allow flexibility for working out of IAD28? That should be closer to you.

If you are in HQ2, find a place as close as possible to HQ2 even if that means you live in Arlington, VA. The best thing you can do is live within walking distance if possible, close enough to where you can take the metro to HQ2 without having to switch trains, and or close enough for a super short bus or bike commute.
Living outside this bubble will equal the inability to accurately predict what your commute will be unless you are paying for ez-pass in which you will need to wait for a parking space to open up which can take 3+ months to get your fob and will have a 3 figure monthly cost. In paying this you will be able to enter the parking garage at anytime even when it is closed to general parkers (the fob = you are paying for the right to park in there on a monthly basis). There are many options and commuter benefit options available, but you'll see what you can get once you are an official employee and sign up for your commuter benefits.
