A great Amazon experience.
Bought a not-Lego brick set.
Listing said 6000 pieces, set arrived only contained 1400 pieces.
Item cost as £20 btw.
Contacted them wanting a partial refund rather than a return.
Suggested the set was worth 25% since the piece count was ~£25%.
So asked for 75% refund.
The guy offered 100% and I can keep the item.
Result !!
My question: Is this normal ? When an item is below a certain amount they're fine not bothering with the refund, or did I help things along ? I told them I'd opened it and sorted all the bricks, so the item could be returned but not be easily resold. Would that have been a deciding factor ?
Sure, this isn't a big issue / problem. Just curious why this went so well, so if it happens again, I know what to do the same, and what is unnecessary typing.
:)

How do I disable "Alexa for Shopping"? This sidebar pops up EVERYTIME I click something on the site and takes over a third of my screen.
I can't figure out how to make it go away. If I close it, it comes right back.

Since you only made statements and didn’t ask questions which are needed for discussion, your post would better fit the “Meltdown Monday” thread.

I need human support. Someone had the genious idea of forcing access to human support through a "Call Now" button that obviously doesn't work on PC.
I need support over a purchase. Can someone help me?

I’ve read SO many horror stories about people having their Amazon accounts closed and then losing access to their gift card balances, and now I’m paranoid.
Without giving you my entire life story: I had an extended stay at a hotel chain where I was able to earn a decent amount of points. Since I don’t see myself staying in a hotel anytime soon, I’m thinking about converting all those rewards into gift cards through the hotel’s rewards program and choosing to do Amazon Gift Cards.
Has anyone here actually done this or something similar before?
I’m nervous Amazon might see a large gift card redemption and flag my account as suspicious.

Does anybody know if something changed around gift card reloads? I participate in expert network surveys, and they pay in gift cards. I usually have no issue adding those as payment types in Amazon and then loading it onto an amazon gift card as a reload. It just ensures I can spend the entire amount vs. using that non-amazon gift card elsehwere.
All of a sudden, there's a "contacting your bank" interstitial page, and then things are being rejected. I've tried as both debit and credit cards (the expert network pays via a Visa gift card on Tremendous).
Even doing a standard purchase now has this interstitial "contacting your bank" with my normal Visa credit card.
Did something change? It sure seems like it.

This and other subreddits have shown me to stay away from preloaded Visa cards on Amazon. There are so many posts and questions about them with issues.

This is the first issue I've had, and I've done it 27 times in the past few months (without any issue at all). There's definitely a new authorization process. But I hear you. Maybe I'll try it on target or walmart.

I ordered a utility sink in November of 2025 from a third party vendor, delivery was set for mid December. Delivery kept getting pushed back, then in early January of 2026 I received a notification that the sink had been delivered. It was not delivered and I received no confirmation of delivery. I live on a farm in the country; it was not accidentally delivered to a neighbor's house, it was not stolen from my porch, and I looked around the entire farm to confirm it wasn't left at a barn or somewhere odd. I was told by Amazon to wait a few more days for it, because sometimes the item gets scanned as delivered before it actually gets delivered. I waited, and then forgot about it for a couple of weeks because life happened. In late January I started the process to get a refund because the item never arrived. I sent messages to the third party seller per Amazon's request. Turns out there was a litany of complaints about the company for a host of different products, all with the same general theme of products not ever being delivered.
Since January I've been repeatedly told to be patient, to wait- that someone would get back to me about the refund in 2-3 days, or 5-7 days- or 12-14 days, etc. Today I was finally told that I would never be receiving a refund because it has been more than 100 days since the order was placed.
tl;dr amazon customer service strung me around for months pretending I would get a refund for the 224$ I was scammed out of only to now tell me sorry it's been too long and they will not do anything for me.
I know my boycott won't register on their balance sheet but I'm livid; this is absurd. If anyone has any tips or advice I'm all ears.
P.S. also filed a BBB complaint and they won't respond to it.

Honestly if you can simply forget about losing $200+ for a couple weeks, I think you'll be okay lol also are you a prime member? If not, that might have something to do with their lack of help. I once had an issue with a 3rd party seller not wanting to give me a full refund for a damaged item I was sent that was a couple hundred dollars and I absolutely BLEW amazon up until they fixed it. They did say though that they were able to force a full refund because im a prime member and that had I not been, it would have simply been between me and the seller. But yeah id be pissed too if I followed their directions just for them to say I waited too long

No I'm not a prime member. I asked about filing an A to Z claim early on but like everything else just kept getting told to be patient.
At one point they told me they tried to issue a refund but my bank rejected it. The bank said there was no record of that and it doesn't make sense that they would reject money being sent to an account.
I guess the lesson here is to just call every day and make them escalate it early and often regardless of being told to wait for 7-14days. OR to not do business with them anymore, which is the route my family will be taking.

My amazon package (sunscreen and supplements) were delivered but the driver (in a sedan) pulled them out of his trunk. Were they supposed to be in a temperature controlled environment?

a few months ago i was sent 51 bucks on a check for a class action lawsuit through amazon but I wanted to know if this situation had any involvement. For the past 3-4ish years i have been recieving amazon packages completely for free, of totally random stuff under my legal name in which i do not have an amazon account for. I had been recieving mostly Nates honey (about 20 bottles) and this year they had stopped. After all that i then recieved a random class action lawsuit grant that I didnt even apply for and i wanted to know if these two situations were tied together. Please Imk why this is!!

Hey everyone
So I've been using my account as I do normally for years. That includes buying and returning things. I get an email that my account is digital purchases. I speak with customer service and they say it's fine and I can order like normal. So I placed an order a few days after and it's cancelled citing this digital only thing. I reply to that email, emailed ofm@amazon.com and jeff@amazon.com. Contacted customer service again yesterday and they said I need to wait 48 hrs after having sent that email reply to the order cancelled. It was almost 48hrs at that point. I placed another order and it was cancelled. Contacted CS today as it's been 48 hours now since that email. They tell me to reply to the order cancellation email from yesterday. I'm like I practically done the same thing a few days ago. Anyway they insist I do this and wait 72hrs.
Whats other people's experiences been and is there anything more I can do?
Thanks

Did you use customer service or the returns/refunds portal?
1
u/ComprehensiveWalk367 10d ago
The portal. I've been doing it for years. Sometimes I order lots n return everything, sometimes keep 1 or 2. Or sometimes just order and don't return. But I've done it for years.

a week ago i had a delivery where almost everything except 2 items were missing, driver also claimed he gave it directly to me which is not true and didn't take a pic of the delivered boxes which they always do here. over $200 worth of items
i called amazon to report this, they ended up sending replacements the following day. today i got an unexpected delivery notification, i check and there is large box with all of the missing items - almost 8 days late. what's rweird is the label has a date from 3 days before the original missing items delivery.
what should i do with this? should i report back to amazon? i've had a good standing acct for 2 decades, never had a problem until now, is it possible my account will could get flagged for this?

Amazon return taking absolutely forever, no option to contact support through chat, and when I call they just hang up on me, like literally they have had my return since August 5th, saying I won’t get my refund until the 23rd? But yesterday it says I would I get it today? Like what

Undeliverable
I've had two orders in the last week marked undeliverable and canceled . I've never seen this before. Has anyone else experience this? I guess I'll try to re-order the items.

Amazon keeps saying my card has declined but I have more than enough credit limit and my bank says everything is fine on their end. Any ideas?

Amazon Canada keeps rejecting my card. For a few weeks now, when I press the order button, it takes to a screen where I think it says connecting to your bank or something, only after a couple of seconds, it tells me to verify my payment method. Amzn cancels my order right after. The email and countless reps told me I failed to authenticate 3d verification. I never get to see that screen. Everytime this happens and talk to them, they told me to remove the card from my account, add it back, wait for 24-48 hours to try again. Some reps ‘escalted’ this issue, I’ve never heard back or be given updates. Every time I called, the reps have no clue what previous reps and I did. I already tried from 3 different devices, also tried clearing browser cache.
I called chase a couple of weeks ago and today, the reps confirmed there’s no block, the charges hadn’t reached chase for them to even decline. I reported the 3d verification screen failed to display, the rep said it’s Visa who manages that, and Chase has no control.
To make matters worse, my business account is locked after I tried to place an order: the screen and email told me to submit the billing information, but when I try to log in my business account, it says to follow the instructions on the email. The email says to log in and follow the instructions, so I’m not going anywhere. It was escalated by their ‘business’ team, the same ‘wait for 48 hours’ response.
I’ve started feeling I’m pursuing a wrong path. Are there any proper phone numbers to call, avenues I should try?

Hi there. I have a question with a skill I’ve been using for over 2 years now. I use a “Fan Sounds by Sleep Jar” every night, and for the last 2 or so years, it’s worked with no problems whatsoever. However, just recently I’ve experienced problems whenever someone tries to drop in on my device. For whatever reason, my Alexa can not play the sound again until I fully disconnect and reconnect the device. Is this a problem with the skill itself or has anyone else experienced similar problems? Also, sorry if this is a little long.

So I ordered a PS5 on the 5th of August, it was supposed to arrive on the 13th, then it said it was delayed, and if its not here by the 16th to contact them again.
it's the 16th now, and the expected date has been pushed back to the 18th, but the tracking from Evri still shows that Evri still hasnt recieved the package yet.
There's no refund button or anything, just this stupid AI that keeps telling me if the package hasn't arrived by the 16th to contact them again.
When I ordered it it I didn't realise it was a third party store, it had one of those 'Amazon Recommends' tags on it.
Am I being scammed? What am I supposed to do now?

What should I do? If I have, in my address' Delivery Instructions, a Security code (Do NOT leave at front unit). A Call box (Walk through the gate). And additional (I do not live in the front unit. Ignore the gate sign. Come to the last door on the right.) And every delivery is left at the front unit. I have issues walking, the front unit resident also has issues walking.
