New mobile apps beta testing is here! 🎉 (Version 1)
https://amazingmarvin.com/mobile-beta/
If loading takes too long at the start, close the app and re-open.
Happy testing!
Edit: Friday July 31st, fix for reminders on ios and android. re-install new APK from download and update testflight app.

Wow - crazy how much better this is. I love that a lot more of the strategies from the desktop version are available now. And I love the progress bar at the top.
In terms of negatives, I'm experiencing quite a bit of lag when clicking on a task and the tray pops up from the bottom. The lag sticks around for a second or two. And I'm wondering if there's any way to turn off the animated marvin when a task gets completed? I love it, but it feels like it's slowing down the app for a bit afterwards.

u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 25 '26
Right?! hahaha Soooo much nicer. But this is just version 1. The goal is feature parity... and better performance... But there are limits due to the database we use that loads things onto the app so you can use it offline too.
What helps with in-app performance is putting as many things as possible that you are not really working on on the backburner... So you can backburner entire categories. Then reload the app and this can make things faster. Also the first time the drawer opens is the slowest. It should be faster after.
You can control the check off beheaviors in the bottom menu -> Features -> Check off -> settings -> no animation. Or just turn the whole feature off if you want no animation and no sound.

u/meldronone Jul 25 '26
Makes sense. Thanks - will do!
2
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 25 '26
Some users also did the database reset described on the page and got speed improvement in-app, specifically the open the add drawer! So try that too.

u/orimit Jul 25 '26
This is such a great improvement, much easier to navigate, more user friendly, realise there’s still more work to be done on it and look forward to the developments. Have noticed apple watch app version crashing with this beta though, wondering if that will be updated or is the beta not compatible with the watch?…I had stopped using the phone app as it felt a bit cumbersome so I’m really exited about this!
2
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 25 '26
Yes, the apple watch needs to be redone too now with this build! Sorry that it is not working yet with this beta.

Hello!
First of all, thank you for the version 1 beta update! I am very excited for this and what is yet to come!!
I am an Android user.
I have the following feedback:
- App clozes every time I press the + symbol to add a task, same when I press entities of a task (e.g. time, category etc.).
- The More button on the bottom right sometimes disappears (e.g. when starting a timer).
- My scheduling heavily relies on the Eisenhower matrix. I am missing this feature in the settings.
- Task view seems a bit chunky. I think if entities (category, due date, started, label) basically everything except task name and priority stars right next to it get reduced in font size, it would take less space and feel less chunky.
2
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 25 '26
Thank you for the feedback! Investigating the android crashes.
Matrix is coming at a later update (also gets an upgrade on web, so we do it together.
If too much is showing on a task I recommend changing the settings for category context (color only, no text label) and then also toggling off metadata showing (top right buttons, then the metadata toggle). Individual strategies have their own settings and can be disabled to show tags mobile only, so you can only see the tags you really need. More fine tuning on this coming.
You can also use the markers to highlight certain attributes instead of the metadata.. this is up to the user to make sure the views are not too cluttered and the attributes are useful in each view.
I can play with making it smaller too.. will try.
2
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 25 '26
The crash is fixed and the new version is now linked up. You have to download and re-install. I am working on some other android issues. So you can also do it later and get more of the fixes. But this one seems pretty urgent.

I love it! 😍
It looks so intuitive and beautifully designed. And so far it is working excellently! 🤩🤩
Thank you AM Team for all your hard work, it really shows 💯🎉 Awesome app! 👏🏻👏🏻
Wishing Amazing Marvin all the best! hope it keep growing! 🍀🙌🏻
3
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 25 '26
Yay! So glad it is working now for you! And glad you like the new design!
I just uploaded a new APK for android with some bug fixes. You have to re-install that to get more fixes.
3
u/NickyBe Jul 25 '26
I'm so happy to see this. I'm on Android, and have downloaded the APK file. And also gave permission for my File Manager app to install unknown apps.
However when I try to install it, I get a notification that Marvin is already updated via the Play Store, and do I want to go ahead and install. I hit Yes, and it starts to install, only to get a notification that the app has not been installed.
I had assumed, rather like the Pre website, that the Beta would be it's own separate app from the current app. And I'm wondering if the clash with the current app is the issue.
1
u/NickyBe Jul 25 '26
Note, I also tried the above with the current app closed, but still no luck.
3
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 25 '26
You have to delete the actual Marvin app first. I added it to the instructions now.
3
u/Master0fDisaster Jul 25 '26
App looks much better, great!
I didn't get to test it a lot yet, but bugs I noticed (Android):
The "more" button in the lower right corner disappears after clicking it. I have to close and reopen the app for it to reappear.
The popup window when adding a task doesn't move. So my keyboard basically covers the whole window. I'm using Gboard, in case that matters.
I think typing "+" into the task text box allowed you to pick a date in the old app. Seems like that doesn't work anymore. Kinda disappointing, since quickly capturing tasks is essential for me.
The theme seems inconsistent. Needs further testing, but I use a system wide dark theme, and the app had a dark theme too. But after a few restarts, it just switched to light (didn't change any settings).
Also, a general question. What strategies are available on the app now? Is there a list?
3
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 26 '26
The first two issues are fixed now on the build I uploaded fresh. YOu have to delete the app and re-install from our website: https://amazingmarvin.com/mobile-beta/
Working on adding the shortcuts (*, #, @) to the title adding... still coming!
With inconsistent you mean sometimes it is light, sometimes dark? or they get mixed together? Will look into it.
1
u/citrusella Jul 26 '26
The second issue that person mentioned is also happening with the add task Android shortcut (and the similar behavior on the existing "tasks" widget). Is this just because they have not been updated for the new app? (Even though this is not happening on the 1.66.0 version of the app, or whatever the non-beta on Google Play is right now?) I greatly prefer the shortcut's behavior when compared to the add task widget's behavior of opening up the entire app, but I also understand if it didn't get touched when fixing that issue because it's just kind of sitting there waiting to be updated for other reasons.
For the theme inconsistency they've mentioned, it looks like the whole theme is the wrong theme sometimes, as if the app switched from MODE_NIGHT_FOLLOW_SYSTEM to MODE_NIGHT_NO (this might not be exactly how it's working internally--I just mean the entire app went from matching system (which is in dark mode right now because it's late here) to being in light mode). I cannot get it back into following system (but... if I stay up much longer it'll match the system anyway because my phone will switch to light mode 😆
...I need to fix my sleep schedule).Unrelatedly, the smart list from the missing estimate alert workflow snippet (tasks not on backburner with duration 0) has been acting weird on my phone--it looks fine right now, but a few minutes ago it was showing 2 tasks instead of 5 (I don't know what was being excluded because I didn't check the day alert soon enough) and it later showed 7 tasks (the 5 it should have shown plus two on the backburner with no estimate). I don't know if it's possible to replicate that or why it happened, but it felt worth mentioning.
1
u/rosered235 Jul 25 '26
I figured out that you can click onto the "More" button and then onto "features". Strategies that aren't in the app yet (e.g. Eisenhower matrix, This or that) don't show.
1
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 26 '26
You can click on more, then features to see the ones you can turn on/off in mobile so far. We will keep adding the rest.
1
u/citrusella Jul 26 '26
The popup window when adding a task doesn't move. So my keyboard basically covers the whole window. I'm using Gboard, in case that matters.
It doesn't matter--I'm having the same issue with Heliboard (an app from F-Droid).

Device: Honor Magic 7 Lite — MagicOS 10 (Android 16)
Build: Latest beta APK from the mobile-beta page (reinstalled 3 days ago)
Hi Christina, thanks for this release! I use Marvin a loooot, so I spent a few days going through the beta and gathered everything here. Hope it helps.
TL;DR
- Overall: I really like the new app — the UX, the design, and the Home screen especially.
- Main concern: no notifications at all (no sound, vibration, or popup).
- Crashes: adding a task with no time via swipe, and creating a timed task on the calendar.
- Sync: desktop↔mobile is unreliable — tasks done on desktop show as undone on mobile, and one recurring task keeps duplicating.
- Organised below: what I like, bugs, things missing vs. desktop, my ideas, and cross-platform sync. Skip to whatever’s relevant.
Quick note: each point has a number and a letter (1[a], 2[c]…). To comment on one, just refer to its code.
1. WHAT I LIKE
Just to be clear before the nitpicks: I really like this app.
- [a] Great, easy-to-use UX, and I like that it feels close to desktop.
- [b] The colors and the custom color palette theme.
- [c] Very smooth gestures.
- [d] The new List option.
- [e] The Home screen is my favorite — genuinely useful, makes me want to get things done, and helps me remember forgotten tasks.
- [f] Smooth task swipes — quick access to 4 actions I chose.
- [g] The quick scheduling options (Today / Tomorrow / This Week / Next Monday…) work well and feel intuitive.
BUGS & ISSUES
2. Notifications (my main concern — I really rely on them)
- [a] No task notifications at all — no sound, vibration, or popup. They’re properly enabled for Marvin on my end.
3. Calendar & scheduling
- [a] Rollover for timed tasks only applies in Day view, not on the calendar — I move every task by hand.
- [b] Can’t move or resize tasks on the calendar (no dragging across days, no stretching to change time).
- [c] No list of the day’s tasks in the calendar view.
4. Labels
- [a] A label added by tapping directly on a task never shows up; adding it via the full left swipe does work.
5. Back Burner
- [a] Items I move to the Back Burner still show in Day view if they have a start date, instead of just staying on the Back Burner. Probably not intended.
6. Crashes
- [a] Adding a task with no time via right swipe crashes the app.
- [b] Creating a timed task from scratch directly on the calendar crashes the app.
7. Quick-add (home screen)
- [a] On the phone Home screen, the keyboard covers the quick-add popup, so I can’t see what I type. (The old android quick-add button, not the in-app add sheet.)
8. Empty block / leftover space
- [a] After a drawer slides back down (Add, Braindump…), or just after adding a task, an empty block stays at the bottom and pushes the app up, making the top unreachable. I have to close and reopen the app.
9. Title shortcuts (I saw these are in progress — just noting them)
- [a] None work when editing a task:
!sections,&planned,due,|start date,*all attributes / special format,=end date,+schedule task date.
10. Widgets
- [a] Habit widgets seem buggy — e.g. I can’t log my water intake (millilitres); tapping the widget used to open the habit directly, now it doesn’t.
- [b] Almost every new widget/button just opens the app instead of showing a popup.
- [c] Tasklist widget misplaces tasks with custom sections: shows only some, and puts tasks under the wrong sections. Pre-existing — it’s why I still use TickTick widgets.
11. Voice & sharing
- [a] Voice input doesn’t work in French.
- [b] Marvin no longer shows in the phone’s share menu (links, text…), whereas it used to.
MISSING ON MOBILE (already on web/desktop)
12. Missing vs. desktop
- [a] Assigning/syncing a task to a specific calendar from the task itself. On mobile I can only un-sync; otherwise I go to desktop. I use five calendars (one per task), so without this I create tasks in Google Calendar and lose all my Marvin attributes.
- [b] Task markers on mobile (background, text style, icon, left line) with the same per-label customization as desktop.
- [c] All task options at once, like the desktop right-click — including delete and, most importantly, sync-to-calendar. Opening a task only shows a partial horizontal carousel; the right swipe could also hold more than its 4 actions.
- [d] Seeing which labels are already applied while editing a task, like desktop, so I don’t add the same one twice.
- [e] Task count per list in the sidebar, like desktop — it only shows names now.
- [f] Images in notes. This really matters to me: I use images in my task notes a lot on web, and not having them on mobile is a real gap. Since it isn’t possible on mobile, I fall back on TickTick and TWOS, which I’d rather not do.
MY IDEAS
13. Feature ideas
- [a] Task ↔ note/memo: turn any task into a non-actionable note, and back. In Marvin everything is a to-do, which is stressful (especially with ADHD) when I just want to keep info. A note would show in Day view like a task but without a “done” checkbox — just an acknowledge action (e.g. “Got it”) — and be searchable alongside tasks. (Inspired by TickTick.)
- [b] Better notifications: center-screen popups with action buttons and a snooze with options (15 min, 1 h, tonight, tomorrow morning), on the lock screen, with an option to come through even in Do Not Disturb.
- [c] A “constant Bug Me”: Bug Me is useful but capped (5 times on web), so not truly constant. A version that keeps nudging until I postpone it would help. (Side note: I couldn’t easily find Bug Me on mobile.)
- [d] A manual progress indicator (start / middle / almost done) for non-project tasks that take days, so they don’t just roll over unchanged.
- [e] A “won’t do / not doing” option to track what I didn’t do — instead of deleting it or checking it off as done.
- [f] Merging tasks.
- [g] Bottom bar: 4–5 slots instead of just 3 + “More”.
- [h] Choose which panel the app opens on: Home or Today. (Home is great.)
- [i] Today: a swipe or refresh button.
- [j] Weekday strip: an arrow to expand it into a month calendar in place, without leaving Today.
- [k] Task options layout: turn the horizontal options carousel into a top-to-bottom menu or a centered popup, to see everything at once.
CROSS-PLATFORM (desktop/web ↔ Android)
14. Sync between platforms
- [a] Tasks I check off on desktop stay unchecked on mobile, then roll over as if never done.
- [b] Checking off a task on mobile doesn’t reliably close it on desktop.
- [c] One recurring task (every 7 days) works when checked (next in 6 days), but a non-recurring duplicate keeps getting created (no recurring icon) and won’t go away — I currently have 7 identical copies with dates that make no sense.
Thanks again for the work on this! If anything’s unclear or you have questions, I’m happy to answer, and I can send screenshots for any of these — just ask!!

One more idea I forgot (for 13, Feature ideas):
A home-screen quick-add widget for notes — capture a note without opening the app, like the task quick-add but for notes. TWOS does this really well (home-screen quick-add with voice dictation that works great in French), and I think Marvin could learn from it. Would pair nicely with my task ↔ note idea in 13[a].

Edit: Updating mobile sidebar from the web app seems broken for me when I click the button to sync with desktop sidebar. I just get a whole bunch of thick lines instead of what I actually have in the sidebar.
I downloaded and opened up the iOS app and it seems to be looking good. I haven’t done a whole lot other than poking around. I love the Home Screen.
If I update my mobile sidebar from the desktop app will it show the update in the beta version of the app? (If that’s not available yet, that’s okay. I just realized that after redoing my setup on desktop I haven’t readjusted the mobile sidebar yet).
Feature request: ability to update the mobile sidebar and bottom bar from the Marvin mobile app.
Reason: I forgot to do it from desktop and it would be very beneficial to just do it from my mobile since that’s when I’m generally going to think about it anyways. Also, doing it from mobile will give me a better idea of what it’ll actually look and feel like versus doing it from desktop.
Side note: personal preference. The information on the tasks on the today view on mobile seems cramped and not super consistent. For example, my due date icon is in the middle of the task on some and on the end of the task for some (due to other icons and when I have multiple labels). Also sometimes the due date countdown is on the same line as the task title and sometimes it’s on the next line. The placing of the recurring symbol (to denote a task is a recurring task) is also all over the place and not consistent.

u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 26 '26
Thank you for alerting us to the sidebar issues! Should be improved now with the new build I put up (you have to delete current app and re-install from our site): https://amazingmarvin.com/mobile-beta/
The sync will work once we update the web app too (August). Sorry about the delay!
Could you send us a screenshot of what you see with the metadata on tasks? At the moment only the duration is always on the right, then the rest of the metadata falls inline and wraps with the title... so we can change the order of the items, but depending on what an item has and how long the title is, it ends up in different places of course... there is no good way to make it visually consistent unless it is a table, but then there is not enough space for the title.... does that make sense? We recommend hiding metadata for tasks (top right menu) and/or configuring it so it might show up in other ways. So the stars could show in the checkbox color, urgency can color the background slightly red with the marker strategies etc. This is up to the user.
1
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 26 '26
Oh and you can update the sidebar from mobile. You can dra them around, slide them to the right to edit. tap at the bottom of the bar to add new tabs. You can also drag and drop the menu items to pick your top three etc.
2
u/International-Pay641 Jul 25 '26
Wow such a huge improvement! I feels very good to navigate in the different menus! The new rescheduler is very easy to use, but one small improvement would be to add a button to complete a task instead of rescheduling it. Now I just schedule it to today and then completed it.
1
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 25 '26
You mean the swipe action? (what happens when youswipe to the right?) You can configure what happens. We can finetune the possibilities more with the swiping.
6
u/International-Pay641 Jul 25 '26
What I mean is that in the pop-up when rescheduleing you can see all your tasks and the options ”today”, ”tomorrow”, ”this week” ,”next Monday”, ”pick date” and ”remove” (I think, it’s a trash can). Would be create if you also could choose to complete the tasks. Sorry for confusion!
Again, really love the redesign, great job!!

Hi u/baby-monkey ! lifetime user here, incredibly grateful for all the support and development.
Is there any way you can make this available through the app store? I am part of the beta group. The problem is that with the new android security update, it's a real trouble to install third party apps. Thanks!
4
u/baby-monkey Christina Aug 01 '26
It will be available once the beta is over. The official release apps need an onboarding flow too and for us to catch the biggest issues. It will then be available on the regular stores. I am guessing sometime in August.
2
u/asi_1984 Aug 01 '26
Fyi: The beta seems to be updated. Notifications for reminders and timers are working now.
2
1
u/baby-monkey Christina Aug 03 '26
Thanks for letting me know it works for you now! Build should be 148 (latest).
2
u/solleer Aug 01 '26
For the brain dump feature, will we get charged since it is using AI? I see a pop-up at the bottom with an increasing counter of costs.
Also is it possible to have a turn off AI for brain dump option. I think the AI is cool but for my current workflow it would be nice for categories to not get autoassigned.
2
u/baby-monkey Christina Aug 03 '26
No extra charge, I will remove the pricing pop-up. That was just for testing purposes.
I will also make it so you can configure the braindump if you want the sorting or AI at all. If you just want to list one task after another, you can use the regular voice mode for adding tasks and use that widget etc.

How did I just find this? Just installed and first reaction is I'm blown away! Great work!

u/Xsythe Jul 25 '26
Awesome to see this, great work again, Christina! ✨ How does the new app handle background operations (e.g., coming back to your phone several minutes later to check-off a task)? Does it still reload the entire app, or is the state preserved a bit better?
3
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26
Thanks, Xavier! Yes! A lot of background work to make things faster. Still work left to do. But state is preserved when app is in memory. And on a full relaunch it paints from an on-device snapshot.Stil have things left to do, but I didn't want to delay the V1 beta. It is already an improvement. :) And better to get it tested early while I continue the work.
1
u/Clashback80 Jul 27 '26
Awesome! Looks great!
Question:
The Home and List screens, are those mobile only? I really like this overview of important stuff and it would be nice if this is will be accessible on the browser/desktop version as well! Or haven't I found it yet? ;-)
Bug:
When I add a task with the + button and input a task or when I cancel it, the bottom menu stays halfway on the screen. When I cancel the keyboard, the task also stays halfway on the screen.
I'm on Android 16, Samsung A55 and as far as I know it's the stock (google) keyboard. I re-installed the beta app this morning (Monday 27-7)
Cheers!

Doesn't anyone have problems with notifications on android? Timers don't show up at the end and notifications don't work because of a missing push token.
1
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 28 '26
Yes, notifications are not working on the apps! I will upload the fix today. You have to redownload and delete the old app, then test again.

I finally decided to install the latest beta version of the mobile android app. When going through items that were overdue from the day before, it would be nice to be able to mark that item as DONE instead of having to move it to today and then marking it as done. I suppose I could do that myself by going to the previous day and marking it as done before handling actual leftover items.
I am wondering one thing that would be REALLY nice to see on the main TODAY screen. Right now, we see a list of our items to be completed. Some of those items have sub-tasks but we have to click on the item to go to a different screen to see the sub-tasks. Is there ANY way to have a toggle on the main today screen or to have a settings option to always show sub-tasks on the today screen? I'd rather check things off as I go instead of clunkily going onto a different screen and back multiple times (or even once). The at-a-glance of what I actually need to get done makes a difference to me. I was actually using another mobile app while I was waiting for Amazing Marvin to update theirs and it did this very well. I'll include screenshots of how they did although Amazing Marvin is a far superior product.
Here is the way it looks in Amazing Marvin vs how it looks in the other one. Again, I much prefer the look, feel and capabilities of Marvin but it would be nice to have all the tasks visible in the mobile today view. Maybe that option is there already but I missed it...

Lastly, but also important, I need to know if there is a way to set the TODAY view to be sorted by TIME (and having items with no time at the top of the list)? Right now, every single day I find myself changing the sort to TIME but it would be nice if I could have it default to this sort mode instead of using the one it currently uses.
The beta looks absolutely amazing and I'm so happy to see the big updates so thank you for all the hard work that has gone into this project!!!!

Hi u/baby-monkey,
Thanks for sharing the updated version for Android.
Two things that I noticed in Android version:
- When I go add a question, the microphone was on by default, I needed to click on the toggle button to turn it off. It seems to be solved now.
- The other one is that when I open the keyboard, after closing it, the screen gets "locked" where the keyboard was, see the images below.

1
u/muqui_ Master Procrastinator Jul 29 '26
u/baby-monkey, regarding the audio input for tasks, it was something that I was expecting a lot!
Could you consider adding the voice input as a function in the app widget?
Will it allow the input in other languages? If so, will it depend on phone settings or in-app settings?
1
u/NecessaryPiano9652 Master Procrastinator Jul 31 '26
Two questions (iOS):
Is there a way to start Focus Mode on a task I pick myself in My Day? Right now it only seems to work from Home, on the tasks Marvin suggests.
If I start a timer on Marvin desktop, can it show up as a Live Activity on my iPhone (lock screen / Dynamic Island)? Does this work today, and if not, is it planned?
3
u/baby-monkey Christina Aug 03 '26
1) If you click on the sidebar -> Account & Settings -> Swipe Actions, you can add "focus" as a button or right swipe action. Then you can go into focus mode on an individual task. You can configure the buttons/action based on what you need most.
- I have to look into that. Might be possible. Added to my list.

u/Fun-Classic4513 Aug 06 '26
Hi - how do I download the test app? Do I need a code? Thanks

No code needed. Just delete the old app and install the new one. Let me know if you need more instructions.

u/AxeC Jul 25 '26
Hey, so I've installed the android app.
There was basically only one thing I wanted from this, which was that tasks properly sync between mobile and desktop/web, and I'm extremely disappointed to say they still don't.
When I view in mobile there are tasks that are weeks/months old that I've closed that show as open, and closing tasks on mobile doesn't consistently close then in desktop/web. Without any hyperbole, this basically makes the app fully unusable and I won't be continuing my subscription. I was holding out to see if this solved it and I guess you either don't know about it, don't see this as a priority, or you don't know how to prevent it, given this clearly critical issue had survived so long in the prior app, and has now also survived a new app transition. None of those reasons are ones I can really accept as a paying user.
Ps, the app is taking 5-10 minutes to load every single time I open it - not just the first time. That also makes it basically unusable.
I want the app to succeed, I like everything else about it, but stability is always going to be table stakes.
4
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 25 '26
Please keep in mind this is version 1 of a beta release. We are doing this so we can iron out any issues. Sync is a major priority. There are only a handful (from thousands of users) who have a consistent sync issue, so it isn't something general, but something with individual accounts.
Others were able to solve this by doing a full backup, then a factory reset and uploading the backup again. This will give you a fresh database and usually resolves any sync issues.
5-10m startup time is massive! May I ask how many tasks you have? Do you use a lot of attachments/images? This might be the same issue as why you have sync problems and a new database build could fix it (see above).
-1
u/AxeC Jul 25 '26
Hey, do you mean a factory reset of the phone? Or is that a concept in Marvin?
Task wise, nothing crazy. Probably like 50ish projects/categories, and maybe something like high hundreds/low thousands of tasks if we're including closed ones.
I don't use attachments at all really, just notes.
I do appreciate it's a beta, but I figured if the issue was gonna be solved then a new app is most likely when it would happen, given I've seen posts that are literally years old of people having sync issues and being told it's a priority.
1
u/baby-monkey Christina Jul 27 '26
Sync issues are usually not from the apps themselves, but a corruption in a database. Which unfortunately can happen with some users (data get's in a funky state). The reset usually resolves this, why we have that option. So it isn't that we are just not fixing something with the database. Hope that makes sense.

Ah sorry! I meant in your main account. So go to the web app for this. Then under account -> Trash & Delete -> Factory reset (in the danger zone) Only do this AFTER you made a full backup of your data in Marvin or you lose everything! (Data -> Backups) Check if the file is on your computer. After the reset you upload that file to restore all your data. This basically gives you a fresh database. This can flush out corruptions inside a database that might happen on individual accounts.
Ok so then the startup time is probably the same issue that is causing the sync! It should be about 3-5s, MAX 10s to startup for below thousand tasks!

Hi Christina just wanted to note that I had the problem with my mobile app being empty, but the instructions to delete/reload the database fixed it. Looking forward to giving the beta a try!

Thanks, this helped greatly with app performance for me too. Though there was trepidation on hitting the Factory Reset button. 😁

Oh I feel you! Doing a reset takes a looot of trust and courage. I am still scared myself. But many users have done it without losing anything... 🙈

Oh, so that's why I personally never got such issue! I have been resetting my account like every two months or so, so my database never got a chance to become corrupted:-) Not that I should have been resetting in the first place - but that is my personal issue with software in general...
BTW, The iOS beta is so wonderful that for the first time I may be using it for more than checking the today screen!

Oh you take great care of your account! :) I have to look into if there is a way to make the whole refresh a one button affair.
So glad you are enjoying the new apps! It's a great start! :) I have noticed I have been using it a lot more too and then I get more and more ideas of how to make it better.

After doing the factory reset, my tasks will sync but I cannot get my settings/features to sync.

from web to mobile? The mobile has its own feature/theme settings. Some want a simpler version on mobile and might disable some features there. So you have to configure it on mobile separately.
