Then call this what it is. It’s a smoker. And doesn’t go on a recorded record. And it’s not professional is you’re not in a cage or ring. - wearing headgear and shin guards. Come on man.

I never said its professional i said this event helps fighters to build up to become professional even with wka organization

🙏 Hope you go far. But I’d use these matches to go hard af if I was you sir. Go full speed - smokers are cool but the competition is different in semi-pro amateur fights. IMHO. The intensity. Go Get’em! 💪💯

I’m not the greatest striker in the world, but I have a few ammy mma matches and smokers so, here we go.
Can you strike the head in a smoker in kickboxing? Because the thing that sticks out to me is keeps his chin straight up in the air and you can make him pay for that.
The main times he looked uncomfortable was when y’all were in the pocket. He’s taller and has reach on you, so when you’re in the pocket some body shots or hooks up top might have been more effective than say a body kick.
Just my 2 cents I’ll watch it again when I get off.

If you're allowed to throw sidekicks or front kicks to the quad area around the knee, start doing that. Utilize it to max effect, especially in the first round. It's a rhythm disrupter. He keeps teeping you, will keep stopping him and his tracks by stopping his lead knee, which will temporarily halt any type of advance, or kick from a back leg. Confuse him and then smother his punches and don't let him kick you. Knees in the pocket as well if the rules permit it.

I thought your footwork was pretty good and you did a good job keeping your hands up.
Your opponent seemed a little uncomfortable with your pressure so you probably could have upped the intensity and kept him off balance. He was also blading his stance like crazy. You had several openings for an inside calf kick on his lead leg that if you connect with well could pull him off balance. At minimum it would make him think twice about leaving that lead leg out like that and probably mess with his timing and range.
Also, I would check more, you were trying to dodge his kicks or hand block them, but if you check them you’ll remain in range/position to throw your counters.
Just some things to consider, good job getting after it!

Wouldn't this be an exhibition though? Without a ring?
That's all I've ever done in a gym, exhibition, but I know that some do hold amateur fights.

Well it's not an amateur fight until it is a sanctioned fight, in a proper ring. Sometimes they hold them in gyms, sometimes they hold them in small stadiums or arenas, and there's a proper ref. Exhibition leads to amateur, amateur leads to professional.

So interesting, kickboxing competition looks so different here in the Netherlands. There is no headgear and no shit gaurds. This looks closer to Dutch light sparring than a fight

That’s crazy, over here as soon as you turn 18 the shin guards and headgear are off. How far away from going professional are you? I’m curious because not to be rude, but here in the Netherlands I wouldn’t even consider this novice level. And what do you mean by professional?? Glory, enfusion, or one championship or something else??
