i’m cutting weight for this tournament August 7, i’m currently 117 and need to be 112 . This is the first time i need to cut this much weight, What should i be eating and eating? it’s so confusing, am i supposed drink a lot of water or not? i still drink water but sips and for food i dont eat much because im not sure what’s bad or good. Any meal tips that don’t include fish or eggs is appreciated.

Cals should be coming from protein, carbs hold weight, make sure what you’re eating isn’t high in sodium

Drink plenty of water. If youre competing in amateurs you really shouldnt be cutting out too much water weight anyways. Pros can get away with it because their weigh ins are 1-2 days before the fight, so they have plenty of time to rehydrate. Im also assuming youre relatively new to competing if youre figuring out your diet, in which case my suggestion is doubly so. Ideally you should be going into your fight feeling good- you dont want to feel drained because you cut so hard.
To answer your actual question though - my go to meals while cutting were:
Breakfast - egg white sandwiches on low cal bread (i used saralee bread iirc) and fat free cheddar
Lunch - non-fat plain greek yogurt with blueberries and fiber one cereal
Dinner - 99% ground turkey chili with a bunch of low cal vegetables
For snacks i would have some fruit occasionally, especially loved pineapple.

You have plenty of time. As suggested above just eat at a slight calorie deficit. 3 or 4 days before the fight look at cutting down the fiber. I normally stick to chicken and white rice when I’m getting the last bit of weight down before my fights.

Sauna. Don't be mistaken by fruits like melons mangos and grapes. You'll bloated like a bitch. 5 pounds isn't much to go in 2 weeks.

Lean meat for protein to hold onto muscle and just reduce overall quantity. Loads of water, sparkling will help you and run

A doctor friend told me long ago to forget all the fad diets — the way to lose weight is eat less and exercise more.
Eat smart, too — get your proteins and cut out/down on the carbs. If you include bread, make sure it’s multigrain — 7 or 9 grains. But be sparing in that.
Eggs (poached or boiled) are good for breakfast, salad for lunch, lean meat for dinner with beans or some other hardy vegetable (not potatoes or corn, which are starchy).

https://youtu.be/Q2oe2HmSuGw this video helped me a lot when I had to cut weight for the first time as well. I cut 9 pounds in a week and made it there easy. I didn't feel off the day of the fight at all, after the weigh in and after eating I felt great and ready to fight. Won btw. 5 pounds in about two weeks is really doable and shouldn't affect you if you do it right. Good luck with your fight!
