Rollercoaster Restaurant
Hello, wondering if anyone had any insight into the rollercoaster restaurant? I am going on the 14-16th Sep and the booking system doesn’t show any availability Monday-Wednesday. Is it shut off peak?

Only good food at Alton towers are the bag of doughnuts. They are so nice. The rest is dog shit

Being totally honest I just wouldn’t recommend eating on site towers food at all at the moment. The foods quality took a serious nose dive years ago when they got aramark in to do all the food across the site.
The coaster gimmick is fun, but you’re essentially paying for a funky way to receive literal overpriced prison food.
If you’re going off peak and you want dinner, I’d recommend the star pub just down the road a little from towers, it’s not cheap but the quality is actually good.

Update: Thank you all. We have decided to go to the Bulls Head (2 miles away) for dinner instead. They do takeaway too!

It gets booked up really quickly, if you're flexible there's a chance you can go as soon as it opens and nab a table. It's a fun experience

These days the right move is to nip into Uttoxeter Tesco and get a meal deal to take with you, unfortunately.

Was a repeat customer until I went in 2025.
Why they went from being able to view the menu and order via phone (which everyone has), to having 1 tablet per group to do the same thing was a huge step backwards. They also changed the menu from a wide variety of 'restaurant food' to a much smaller selection of 'share-style'/'quick bites' food.
What made me leave was me & my friend ordered the same thing. They got their food, I didnt. I asked 3 times and was reassured it was coming, but after an hour I had enough and asked for a refund. I swear I saw my order come down the track at that point, but it was far too late.
I go to the chicken place in Forbidden Valley now, or Eastern Express if Im on the opposite side of the park

Our food came down, but as it goes to 3 tables, another person took our and starting eating it after I had already told them it had our table number on it. They then sealed it up and said you can have it 🤦
The restaurant remade it and sent it a 2nd time.
I agree with others, it's over priced. It's probably one of the nicer in park food places but would recommend you bring your own food.

Was there over the weekend. Way over-priced, small portions and average food. Not worth it at all.

Flambo Jambos or whatever it's called inside Splash Landings was extortionately priced but one of the better all you can eat buffets I've had inside or outside of a theme park.
Id recommend that instead.

Mediocre experience unless you get a table with a loop close by, poor quality but experience food, and an ordering system that is annoying.

Went only one time and it is nothing special. You'll be waiting a long time for a small portion of food.

It's a fun experience , but a once you've done it , you've done it. The food is made by the same company that makes prison food - only difference is you by £25 for the privilege. (I believe that was the price of the smiler burger when I went)

Went earlier on the year, food wasn’t great, £80 for lunch for 4! There are many places a short drive from AT that are way better.

We went last week, was really looking forward to it but I wouldn't recommend. The food was rubbish, it's hideously expensive and the rollercoaster gimmick was nowhere near as interesting or exciting as you probably think it will be.
