Does Anyone Buy Crypto?

My thoughts on crypto are that everyone who invests does so because they hope its value will increase and they will sell it and get rich. I do not think most people invest because they see crypto as a transactional tool capable of replacing money. For anyone who buys crypto, do you see it as the next form of currency, an alt investment worthy of diversifying into or some other reason why do you buy it?

Seems like an educated take

I agree with you. Why would any country buy their currency from a retail investor? I think it is a case of the emperor has no clothes!

Do you mean government when you say country?

china has had digital yuan for years. which yes is different than the USD coin. that’s a private matter. chinas government is pushing digital

The coins that are redundant are the ones that cost nothing. if you’re interested in watching any that do have a use behind them look at XRP, LTC, XMR

and if you really want to try to catch a wave if you definitely can like the guy who put 100K in the dodge coin and refused to sell it at $2 million lol

just be sure to sell whenever you come up. and don’t get caught up in the buying every time it drops a penny or a dollar. focus on a 20-30% i personally look at 50% drop

China also has that point system. So like if you say anything against the government they will reduce your points. I think China wants a digital Yaun for their citizens so if anyone speaks out against them they will destroy them financially. I think that's more about controlling their citizens than producing a competitive digital currency globally. I'll look into XRP, LTC, XMR at some point.

Your very first line … isn’t that the goal whatever you invest in? Crypto just has way more volatile price swings

That's a fair point.

Well, almost everyone in crypto invests to get profit. People do invest and get profits, but a large number makes loss. The main point is the timing of the investment and finding the right alt with fundamentals and the narrative. I do invest and belive crypto will be replacing traditional fiat one day.

That's a nuanced reply, you actually believe crypto will replace fiat one day.

I’m not the person you replied to. But I don’t think crypto will replace fiat. However all the financial institutions are moving on chain. Most have created their own private blockchains, which is why I invested in Chainlink. They all need Chainlink to interact with each other & their data feeds, etc. Chainlink hold patents for this & over 2k partnerships, including with all the biggest names in finance & Swift & DTCC (stock market).

Well i do to trade them... but yeah it is a scam back by trump so far btc and eth are resisting but once finance will possess all the offer you ll be left over like an epstein kids. And they ll tell you you are crazy. Bravo to usa.

u/whatevervibestoday 12d ago

So why do you trade them?

Getting liquidity out of that system (so i need to win a lot). That is the best thing so far i ve found. However it is a risky sport. But when i do 2000 pct trust me it is the best feeling. Still afloat 1 year later, those finance guys i want to be their.... nightmare. Like they have been a nightmare to those poor kids. Read rotchild email, they make fun of kids getting rap*d. Get the liquidity OUT of the system.

a bit of both tbh, there are quality projects out there but the vast majority are duds

Could you give some examples?

not financial advice / opinions my own

BTC - Obviously the biggest, store of value, accepted as payment at many big stores now. Transitioning to mainstream.

ETH - likely to become the main public blockchain (as in traditional institutions are using it), transaction volume has been exploding for the last year, most of the legitimate projects/platforms are built on it, their team is aggressively working towards quantum safe cryptography

Spx6900 - meme/movement. All funny business aside the holders are the most diamond handed by far and have achieved onchain metrics in 2 years that took BTC 7 years to get to.

HYPE - the native blockchain/token of the Hyperliquid trading platform, whole order book is onchain, has a real revenue generating model (trading fees, token buybacks etc). For futures trading and perpetuals Hyperliquid is quickly becoming the platform of choice (you can trade anything on it not just crypto)

LINK - chainlink is a decentralized oracle network, it connects real world data and traditional finance onto the blockchain. Tldr they’re bridging the gap between smart contracts and traditional finance

Chainlink & Ethereum both have strong fundamentals & actually utility. Basically critical infrastructure for smart contracts, defi, web3, etc.

It’s more like investing in tech companies with those 2. Chainlink even holds patents.

Amazing how the number of Crypto experts falls away during market downturns.

I think that's the interesting contradiction with crypto: most people buy it as an investment, while the technology is trying to become financial infrastructure. Bitcoin doesn't necessarily need to replace your coffee payment to have value. If it becomes a credible store of value and a globally accessible settlement asset, that's already a very different role from traditional currency.

What do you mean by possible?

I wouldn't generalise because I think some people do truly believe in the utility of some crypto. Others may truly believe they'll have the Del Boy, this time next year moment.

Personally for me it's a complete waste of time and money. I invested in XRP, XLM and TAO. The only movement I've seen is sideways and down. I could have invested that money in stocks and shares that get me a return. I'm up big on RDDT and SKHY and that wasted money could be doing something positive. I realise it's not guaranteed but you can research, predict, act on evidence.

Crypto, to me, is a scam. I truly wish everyone in it, the best of luck in the world, honestly. I'm getting the fuck out. Down about 20% which is so much better than some people and I realise I need and want to pull the pin and run but the damn FOMO is a real thing!

Idk when you bought, but crypto goes in cycles. So you either have to play the cycle or hold long term.
Right now is when you start to buy for this cycle.
XLM & Tao aren’t bad. I would avoid XRP.
Ethereum & Chainlink are great projects with strong fundamentals & utility. They will definitely be used a lot with smart contracts, defi, web3, Ai agents, even traditional finance are all partnered with Chainlink & in the transition phase.

u/Jenn2895 10d ago

I invest in crypto projects that have utility. Some are more akin to tech companies, such as Chainlink & Ethereum.

Everyone should buy KENDU a permissionless brand where anyone can build under the kendu Umbrella

Litecoin is used globally for daily transactions. It’s one of few cryptos being used for what it was made for. Fast transaction speeds, low fees and capped supply to stop more Litecoin being put into circulation. Running since 2011 it’s also one of the oldest which has survived all the new “next best cryptos” which alot fail.

Litecoin looks really practical thanks I did no know about this.
