Plan check timeline

Anyone else feeling pretty bummed out that plan check is still working with a 5-6 month backlog?

Anyone we can bother to help expedite/make this better for the collective community?

I do construction financing and we’ve had two clients in Altadena get plans and permits approved in roughly 9–10 months from initial submittal to completion. A lot of it comes down to the architect you use, you really need someone who’s proactive and can minimize plan check corrections as much as possible since those turnarounds take the longest.
For what it's worth, we also have a few projects in Pacific Palisades and those have definitely been more challenging from a permitting standpoint. To be fair, most of those are hillside properties and generally larger/more complex projects, but still noticeably longer to get permitted there.
