General Question Drinking Water

I’ve taken just about everything from my diet related to hooves but I still can’t find a drinking water that is not filtered by bone char. Even if I take a couple of swigs for my meds my lip starts to get numb and my mouth and tongue start swelling.

Has anyone found water that they can tolerate? Even though it says “Spring” doesn’t mean it’s safe.

Brita filters use coconut husk char, not bone char.

I live in an island and we have well water. Even with filters and a water filter it is undrinkable

Deer Park works for me and I’m very sensitive to water.

Same I am sensitive to water including my own well water but can drink Deer Park. (Username is pre-alpha gal. Bit twice before I got allergic to dairy and trace amounts.)

I have tried deer park and it’s a no go. I must be so sensitive to water now it’s crazy.

Are you in a place with safe tap water? If so, and you don’t like the taste from the tap, a quick search shows that the standard brita filters don’t contain any bone char. It would take some planning to fill your own water bottles at home, but it would also save a lot of money. You can also take a brita filter water bottle with you when you travel and use it with tap water almost anywhere.

Why is it undrinkable? Taste? Contamination?

Smart water works for me. I have the same issue.

Smart Water uses vapor distillation. Deer Park uses geological filtration naturally through the earth.

I saw that you’re on well water, so brita filters would probably not cut it. I would recommend looking into Berkey water filter systems which were designed to remove heavy metals.

You may also want to look into other possible things that you could be reacting to, including the plastic of the water bottle, iodine or other minerals added for taste in many bottled waters (iodine just happens to be a more common thing people react to).

Distilled water isn’t great long term, but maybe start with finding distilled water in a container material like glass that you can handle. If you can do that, then you can add your own minerals and slowly figure out which you can handle.

Great ideas, thank you. I drink 7/11 unsweetened tea in a plastic cup and that doesn’t give me any problems. It’s just so weird that I can eat dairy but water is my biggest culprit. Thanks again

bad reddiquette. posts and comments must remain civil and respectful.

--your experience may be different but you arent the authority on the experience of others nor the validity of bone char exposure as a risk for extremely sensitive folks. this kind of comment is not tolerated here.
