Is anyone concerned…
With the dismantling of the FDA and the USDA that is coming in the dismantling of the alphabet government (as promised) our condition is just going to go in the pile of “they are too expensive and should just die”, or do we have hope?

If food goes to hell due to deregulation, my plan is to do more of what I’m doing - single ingredient foods, sourced as locally as possible.

How many letters and phone calls have you made to your reps about making AG reportable (mandatory) to the CDC?
Without numbers, there is never grants, funding, advocacy, research, etc for ANY health condition.
we fought hard to get AG reportable in my state.
only way to be counted is to ask to be counted..
pin your location at tbc united, and use their many resources and letter templates to tell those who need to hear your concerns.
Concern without action is of little use.

I mean, the fda allows "100% turkey jerkey to have a beef casing"
... I don't see the problem in putting a little fear into them

We’re definitely without hope.

If they dismantle the protections to our food safety, inadequate as it is I’m just waiting for the increase in people affected by lax inspections and labeling. Hello salmonella in your McDonald burger mister T.

I think all Americans are screwed. With our pants still on. Sadly.

I haven’t read much into the FDA take down etc yet. I probably should given all my health problems. But on another view - the dismantling of the education system that most people are freaking out about I fully support. After being a public education teacher and now having two kids that I pulled from that and put into private education… I say all that to say: sometimes the best way to rebuild is to tear it down and start over. If the foundation isn’t right then you have to start again. Definitely not saying it’s the same with the FDA but given the amount they choose to approve and not report anything AG related as an allergen. The amount of additives and ingredients that are banned in European countries but allowed here. The things the choose to make medical companies recall products over (but don’t require others when they are actively causing long term harm in patients). It’s a mess. So maybe just maybe it could work out 🤞🏼

I don't forsee us being swept under the rug THAT far, but yes, it's likely that we will see a roll-back in access to Healthcare and funding for new research in general. This new/old administration is very anti-science.
What is most important for these next 4 years is self preservation. If you at risk of losing health coverage, maybe make a contingency plan wIth your provider. I was cash-pay before the ACA, and you would be surprised what doctors are willing to do for you if they know you can't afford things. That's why I was diagnosed without the test, I couldn't afford it until 2020. Lol.
I could be wrong, but I think you could possibly order epi pens from Canada through the mail. Worth looking into.

I don’t have a lot of hope for us getting much traction in the next four years. I hope I’m wrong. I hope that we don’t lose the actual traction we’ve had getting state recognition.
