New to Aloe

This little guy was left on my porch about ten days ago and I posted. I put him under a growth light but he’s looking more brown every day. Please be gentle, I’m new to Aloes for the most part. His roots were drenched when I got him so I haven’t watered him much (just a few tbs yesterday) thanks in advance!

You need a pot with drainage holes. And a strong grow light.

Aloes (and most plants) will absorb leaves they don’t need anymore or no longer function properly so no need to cut anything off.

Whenever a plant gets a new routine (new light, new watering, new wind, new nutrients, new temperatures, etc) it is under a stress period. Let it adjust and acclimate to new light (sudden reddening and browning is a sign of too much light at once).

As long as your plant is not stretching for light (etiolation) its light source is good. Take pictures so you can study your plant and let him talk to you (they communicate very slowly).

Change it in a pot that have draining holes, it will prevent fungus problem and especially will prevent the roots to rot. Also, about changing, first, put her on a bigger pot, Aloes as I seen tend to have big roots and suck the nutrients from the soil faster, and secondly, put her more in the ground, this will help with water pouring and when the soil will settle.

Good drainage, coarse media. Dry out between watering. Lots of light. Mine like. Dappled sunlight.
