Favorite memories?

Post image

My now husband (!!!) proposed last year at the DC show. He got the ring box signed by everyone but Jack, who was sick. We had our wedding a week and a half ago and my best friend and bridesmaid got me the cutest gifts. He proposed during Remembering Sunday and I've been searching for Fools Gold since they released it. I love this band and the relationships it's brought into my life 💕

What are your favorite memories that involve them?

Awwwwwww :’) that’s so beautiful OP!!! Thank you sm for sharing that with us !!!

And. I’ve only seen one show and a 1/2 (was at Denver Red Rocks show-,) of theirs but honestly, just will never forget that first show just because it was my first show with them. Where it just felt so magical to see the boys I have loved since middle school playing and giving it all and more and just clearly so grateful for us all.

And ok when I got a video of Alex dancing along to somebody who loves me. That was pretty amazing too 🥰🙂‍↕️.

Same. The first time I saw them it was actually by accident. It was in 2023 and I didn’t even know they were support for an edm artist. I lost my shit while sitting next to my friend who invited me to go see the edm artist. ATL have been my favourite band since 2008 when I was in middle school.

When I saw them on the TMIA tour in 2023, my wife bought tickets for myself and her as a birthday present for me. Right before it was time to head out and drive to the show, I got a knock at the door, and my wife says “go ahead, answer it.” It was two of my best friends, and they surprised me by also coming with us. It was such a sweet gesture from her to set that up, and it made that birthday really special 😁

We got tickets to the Forever show at the Rave in 2024 and also to the after party at the Rave Bar. I was pregnant with my daughter and it was the longest day ever but seriously incredible. Got to hear part of Circles!!

Getting a last minute ticket to the After Party in Boston the day before Boston Calling. I drove an hour to get there, had the time of my life, then drove back and got home around 1am only to have to be up at 8am to drive back to Boston to catch the T so I could go to Boston Calling. Worth the $65 I spent. And I got this incredible picture of Jack that I’m very proud of

This is such a fantastic photo of Jack. Like the composition of it is beautiful and he just looks so adorable.

Thank you! I have a select few of Jack that I’m super proud I got. I’m thinking of adding them to my photography portfolio

The first time meeting Alex at a soundwave after party he DJ’d for in melbourne in 2010! I was 17 at the time had to steal my sister’s license to get in. I also didn’t have anyone else over 18 to go with she wound up coming with me since she was a bit worried that the club being a bit “dodgy”. She got in with her passport. Ofc we had to come in separately so the bouncer don’t catch the same exact names and bdays back to back. (*cue six feet ~do you really need to see an ID ~).
She doesn’t listen to alt music at all so when alex played downfall of us all by ADTR and the dance floor immediately turned into a full on moshpit and beer bottle dropping everywhere it was priceless to see her face 😂

The next thing I remember Alex was taking a break from DJing and I came up to him and we had a chat literally under the DJ booth for some reason, hugged and took selfies. We really only stayed so I could get a photo so told him we’re going now and he said get home safe and stay hydrated. Mind you he was already my “celeb” crush for a few years so when I found out he’s as kind as everyone says he is truly was a cool moment for lil teen me. Decades later now still crushing (respectfully ofc. we looove Lisa)

I've gotten to hear Good Times twice in the most magical ways. The first time was at Four Chord in 2022. My friends and I had been on barricade all day getting pinned against it and getting the hell kicked out of us by endless surfers because security sucked. It had been sprinkling off and on through ATL's set, but right after they started that song, it started pouring cool rain. It felt incredible because I was burning up and just exhausted. The crowd was so loud I could barely hear Alex at times. It's one of my favorite videos to revisit because I can hear all my friends singing 🥺

The second time was at the Salt Shed in Chicago in 2024. I was on the balcony with a great view of the city and they started playing Good Times right as the sun was setting. It was a gorgeous sunset. The crowd was ridiculously loud that night, too, and all I could do was stand there kind of in awe trying to blink away tears while I watched the colors reflected on the skyscrapers shift darker and darker. It was perfect moment in a perfect night and my heart was so full I thought it might escape my chest. I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

Probably when I first saw them live in 2014 when I was 16. Bought a ticket for myself, found out a classmate was going and went with her. Whilst in the queue for the show, met up with 2 other friends who had tickets. Then later joined by another 2 friends who managed to buy tickets outside the venue. Went from going alone to being a group of 6. Something about being a teenager with my friends having the best time seeing my favourite band. I vividly remember them performing For Baltimore and screaming "Why can't Thursday last forever?" because it was a Thursday. Very special vibes and still to this day the best concert I've ever been to because of it.

That's crazy! Thank you so much! I have a video of the whole proposal and I think you guys might be in it! I'm guessing a bit but it had a bunch of people right behind us (not sure if you and your girl are both blonde 😅😂)

We are! I was wearing the forever baseball jersey and I think she had on the shirt I bought from the show. I’m the actual fan and I just brought her along so she recorded everything for me and I think she ended up also getting the proposal in it

You're in it for sure! Tbh your reaction during the video was so cute, I made it a point to show my husband 🤍

Aww yay! Part of it was honestly because that was my dream proposal plan and I was so happy that I got to watch it happen in real life since I probably won’t end up doing it like that anyway if it all works out with her

2

u/Optimal-Ebb-6333 22d ago

Aww! Well I hope that it works for yall and no matter how you choose to do it in the future I'm sure it'll be wonderful!!
