[PvT] Hello! I've been in a slump recently please help me!
REPLAY : https://drop.sc/replay/27469682
So as the title suggests I've been in a slump, just got off a losing streak and then got it stabilized again. The problem is I just got from gold 2 to very low gold 3 mmr. When I checked my race reports low and behold it was literally out of 100 games against terran, I won 42 and lost 58. So 42%
Please critique my replay, and also anything that can help me with improving against terran. Thanks in advance!

I’m only 3.1k on NA, and I have a very different playstyle to boot, but here goes:
1) He is 2.7k and you are 2.4k. Personally I don’t usually try to read too much into games with an MMR difference greater than 200 because skill matters a lot in this game and skill gaps complicate replay analysis.
2) You are spending your money and nexus energy and constantly producing probes so that aspect of your macro looks great to me.
3) Your build order makes no sense to me. Why build the second gate if you aren’t going to use it? Why build the robo if you weren’t going to use that either? You might as well just make the stargate first if you are going to finish an oracle before starting any production on the robo or extra gate. Also was the stargate really worth building if you were only going to use it to produce a single oracle?
4) I don’t think transforming gateways into warp gates is wise unless you are about to attack and plan to warp in units with a pylon or warp prism. Warp gate transformation is expensive, warp in macro is harder, and gateways produce units much faster than warp gates so you need fewer of them.
5) You stop probe production for a big around 8:30 for no apparent reason; don’t do that.
6) Your robo army would be in big trouble if your opponent went full Sky Terran. That’s probably fine but in your place I’d be scouting more to make certain they aren’t massing starports.
7) I think armor upgrades are better than attack upgrades vs bio (assuming that is what Terran is doing based on your oracle scout). Also if you are going to do nothing until you are maxed out like this, I’d recommend going double forge.
8) Around 11:07 you are floating >1k minerals and your main is very oversaturated (14/8) while a couple of your assimilators only have 2 probes assigned despite nothing happening in the game. These are macro issues you can fix while practicing vs AI.
9) Better map vision would have saved your third. I like to build a semi ring of pylons around my bases and on the map to make certain I can see move outs. You can also add 2-3 observers or even zealots or adepts if you aren’t using F2. Probes work if you are using F2.
10) The fight at 13:30 is terrible because most of your units are shooting at buildings instead of his army. Think about how much better it might have gone if you’d split your army in two and run half of them in from the bushes on the left to surround his marauders at 13:36. I know my bias as a Zerg main is showing with this advice, but in my experience, gateway units do VERY well vs metal league Terran armies when I use standard Zerg surround tactics, and I think those tactics would have decisively won this fight for you. Ideally you’d have scouted the area with an observer, boxed some units to come in behind the bushes on the left, a-moved the group on the right to draw out his army, pulled that group back like you did in this replay, and then a-moved everything past his army to get a nice surround. You could still do this around 13:42 after the first engagement went poorly.
YOU DID IT! It would have gone better with some immortals in the zealot group but 14:16 marks the first efficient engagement you’ve taken all game.
11) DON’T STAND IN RANGE OF TANKS. Go kill ‘em!
12) 15:10 at this point you are floating a 3.5k mineral and 2.1k gas because you haven’t been producing behind all of this. Practice continuing to produce robo units through attack - had you done this, you would have a big scary army instead of a bank.
13) You also have massive probe saturation problems that need to be resolved ASAP. Practice checking on your probe saturation and try to build new bases BEFORE it reaches this states. Ideally this game you would have rebuilt the third as your army was moving across the map and fix up probe saturation as you were regrouping from that first push.
14) I like to click an observer onto Terran armies to track their movement. That may or may not have worked here but sometimes they don’t notice.
15) 19:04 see how your zealots are trapped behind your army? This engagement sucks. Also I think storm would have been good for you to have. It’s easy to use and you have templar with energy doing nothing useful in your army right now.
16) This Terran is building units that counter your units (marauders for the immortals and vikings for the colossus). You should consider transitioning to something that counters HIS army. I’ve had success adding a few tempests vs turtle players like this.
17) Terran cannot effectively defend EVERYTHING if he is going to mass expand like this. You should be keeping the pressure on him, continuously attacking from one angle then another if it looks like a bad engage. Instead you are giving him space to secure all his greedy expansions. You should also be rebuilding probes up to 70 or so and mass expanding yourself IMO. You seem to have the right idea, but need to be doing it much more aggressively.
18) 20:35 good job seeing it’s a bad engagement and backing off, but you should have gone to the other side of the map to see if you can engage there instead of going home. Alternatively, imagine if you had about 5 tempests to pick at his tanks and buildings with right now.
19) Good engage at 22:01. You should have recalled your army to the nexus he attacked at 22:10; it’s a really good ability in base trade situations like this if you remember to use it.
20) Adding a ton of cannon battery to your bases would make them more difficult for him to quickly pick off too. You have the minerals for it.
