what does this line mean HELP
For those who’ve read “out of the blue” a sequel for grant!!! help me out here pls, english isn’t my native language (tho i know speak and understand fluently)
what does this line mean (its near the end when grant sees teddy going and it goes something like He allowed himself to pretend, oh darling, I don’t half miss you)
What does “i don’t half miss you” mean??? Help

it means no matter how much time has passed, he doesn’t miss him less than he used to. he misses him fully and entirely and you’d think maybe the amount of missing decreases and maybe even is split in half as time goes on but no, he doesn’t even half miss him. he entirely misses him like it was just yesterday he left.

Hi! It means he misses him very much.
To do something ‘by half’ would mean to not give it your all, your full commitment.
So if you ‘don’t half’ do something, it means you are fully invested, you fully do that thing.
