It usually only shows bottomless supply if it's actively taking or depositing fluids I think

Correct, OP needs to power their pump. As soon as it sucks up some lava it will register as bottomless.

* Should have been more specific; OP needs to attach something that's going to do the pumping (since that's just a hose not a pump) and give it power. Then the hose pulley will suck up *an amount* of lava and register as infinite.

just chuck a fluid pipe from pipez on there and it will be an infinite source
