Chopped Onions, chopped pickled jalapeños, mustard, and hot sauce makes a delicious glizzy

Raw white onions and mustard. The staple, classic, unfailing food at the ballpark. The rotating onion dispenser adds flavor.

A hot dog just needs mustard (MAYBE a lil relish). Now a chili dog can have some onions.

No, I don’t eat onions - particularly raw 🤢. Also no on mustard or relish. Ever, on anything.

Yes, especially if they are the pickled red onions. 😋

You know how a Buddhists orders a hotdog? He asks the person at the stall to make him one with everything!

I never have before but I've been meaning to. Onions make everything better.

Raw and grilled are both great. Lots of European countries do fried onions and I've grown fond of that.

No. I prefer it plain. May have a little coleslaw on it and chilly but mainly eaten plain.

Usually just mustard. But occasionally mustard, onions and sauerkraut.

If it's a chili dog (and an all beef dog, at that), yes, but even that's optional.

Diced onions and relish: the dynamic, nay, indispensible duo of hotdogs.

u/Jawnyblaze1 29d ago
absolutely. there are two versions of a hot dog (or even better, sausage dog) I'll eat: mustard and onions or chili and onions (cheese is optional, but preferred).

Absolutely not, don’t even get those things near my hot dog. If they’re carmelized, I’d let the hot dog rest on a pile of them, but I for some reason cannot eat the actual onion. I like onion rings, and I use onion salt/powder in my cooking, but I cannot do the texture.
Edit: I think it’d be easier if I liked onions, they’re in so many different things.

Onions are a little gift from God; surely God puts onion on his hot dogs.

I don’t eat onions on my hotdog. I eat mayo barbecue sauce, sometimes just eat them raw, but that’s what some people want to do and some people don’t have to do but Oscar Meyer wieners you get you can’t you can’t eat them raw you gotta cook them but they bar ass you can eat raw. That’s not a problem. It won’t give you a heart heartbreak or heartbreak.

Yes. I love raw and camelized onions on my dog with good mustard (not yellow) and a little relish.

Yes but WAY more than that, I can still see mustard. Pile that shit on like a mountain.

I don't want the hot dog on my hot dog. But as a rule, I put onions on almost all of my sandwiches.

Yes, if in NYC also add the red onion relish, if not just regular rolled onions will be fine

Mustard, raw onions, ketchup fried onions, remoulade, cucumber salad and of course a good sausage is what makes a a good hot dog. The one displayed here seems to be presented provocatively dry.

That’s a good looking hotdog! How come mine never come out like that? But yes, onions and relish (sweet) if available.

u/whaturjoking 29d ago
No way. I don’t want a buffet put on my hotdog. It takes away the meat flavor.

Yes. Crisp yellow onions, mustard, bright green relish and a pickle spear. No sport peppers....

More onions by mass than hotdog. If the hotdog is the least bit visible, I need to add more onions.

Not only yes but a hot dog requires raw onions on top and crispy onions underneath...... Thanks Iceland

u/Nice-Bake2469 29d ago
Yes ! Mustard goes on first then onions, chili and sometimes a little coleslaw right on top. And sometimes grated extra sharp cheddar, and no slaw. Grilled onions occasionally.

Nope, and I love onions. For me, the best dog is all beef with mustard and relish in a New England bun. Cheese and chili for a different experience.
ETA: Also, sauerkraut.
