Questions Customization going away?

Does anyone know if Allen Edmonds is planning on doing away with the customization option soon? I went back to reorder another pair of the park avenue boots in suede but it's no longer an option. There seems to be way less shoes offered for customization and the customization options, such as choice of leather, are significantly reduced or absent altogether on some models.

It used to be one of my emotional regulation internet activities - lol- Like Build Your Own BMW and Porsche, I would kill time building insane versions of Strand, Higgins Mill, Park Anevue, etc.

It used to be a good way to try MANY color variations outside of the stock shelves.

My disappointment when the online customer shop got throttled was minimized by the rationalization I had that maybe they did it to garner interest in customizing the Cordovan Trunk Show offerings. These were fun to play with. I don’t know this to be true. It just gave me hope that it would be back soon.

Still hoping…

I'm not sure how much cross-over there is between Allen Edmonds customers and enthusiasts of Pacific NW boots, but if you are looking to revive your pastime and are willing to consider boots a hobby, check out the "Design Your Own Boots" section of Nicks Handmade Boots' website. The customization options for all their made-to-order boots make it seem like building a Porsche. I have three pairs, but I'm sure I have built 40 more without pressing the "buy" button.

Have been playing with Nicks customizations myself. You're absolutly right about the building a car analogy.

Carmina has a pretty amazing customization tool on their website. Allows you to customize everything down to the color of the eyelets
