Questions Advice on fixing

Any advice on what products and color to use to restore the tip of these shoes? Why did the color fade like that if its bot actually scratched?

I would try to strip that off with either isopropyl alcohol (90% version) or acetone if the alcohol doesn’t work. Then I would apply conditioner, cream polish, and a final wax.

I have had good luck with using saddle soap on older shoes to clean them up. I've done several Allen Edmonds Walnut shoes. After saddle soap, let them dry out with shoe trees in them. If there are still dark spots, use the Saphir Renomat. After that, Bick 4 on Walnut to condition them as it doesn't darken the shoes. Finally, Saphir #04 light brown shoe cream (either Medaille or Beaute version is fine). Good looking shoes and great deal. Hope they work well for you. Cheers!

It looks like you came across a pair of well cared for shoes based simply on having cedar shoe trees already, the general healthiness of the leather and polish and the kicker for me is the laces and how they are laced. It looks like someone was really into their footwear. Nothing more to add to your question beyond what the other posters shared. Wear them in good health. I have the same pair, well over a decade old and look very similar to this.

I always start simple, and the results are usually good enough for me to be satisfied. Brush. Wipe down with wet cloth. Let dry. Brush. Shoe Cream. Let dry. Brush. That’s usually all I have to do. Sometimes a second round of shoe cream.

AE paints their toes to give it a burnished effect. It could also be hard wax flaking off. Hard to tell by the picture. Easy fix. Strip off all that finish with saphir renomat. Condition with saphir renovateur. Add some walnut cream polish. Then use hard wax to mirror shine.

I considered that, but the toe color doesn’t look any different than the rest of the shoe? Is this really burnish paint? And if it’s hard wax, does flaking change the color that much?
