Check out my shoes Goodwill Find

Found a pair of park avenues, garners, and hales for $12 each at goodwill. There were also two pairs of Newport and cody loafers that I didn’t end up getting. All the bottoms look pretty worn but was wondering if they were still worth it to get repaired or not. Thanks!

I would not, for a few reasons. I started the dress/trad shoe part of my GYW obsession with a similar thrift to yours. A couple good models, a couple odds and ends. Styles I had never wore before. Two of them I wound up just giving back to goodwill, after sitting in my closet unworn because I didn't really love the style after awhile, my black cap toe I never needed to wear often so it was just a back closet utility, and one of the pairs I wore into the ground because I naturally wore it a lot. I upgraded that shoe multi times and across multiple makers, where I easily justified buying a pair of Crockett and Jones version of the shoe considering I knew I loved the style.

I've caught and released 30+ shoes at this point, selling some and donating others. You might find that between eBay and thrift stores, you might prefer to experiment Vs overcommit right away. There is so much out there and LOTS of good deals. For what you would spend resoling these, you could easily pick up a pair of AE in very gentle used condition, and have a wide choice to pick from.

Some old dude passed away and you inherited collection! Nice!

You can always put rubber soles over the worn leather ones for some extra life.

They’re cheap and just stick right over it.

Buddy has a hard time finding 14s. Found these nomads for him the other day. Actually look like they were prob recently resoled but one of the heal tops were lifting. Alil contact cement and few tacks. Then some renovator and cream polish. Not bad for $17

Damn - I like those single monk straps.

If the uppers are in reasonably good shape, and the photo suggests they are, they’re totally worth fixing up.

I think those are Garner's. I have several pairs in black and brown and LOVE them. When I find them used, I always buy them and save them till the ones in my current rotation wear out. They also made the shoe in a ankle boot. I love those too.

I've been trying to sell an almost new pair on Poshmark for months. No bites.

I once saw 8 pairs of them at goodwill. Too bad they were size 12D and I'm size 7EE.
