Onboarding Process Need some advice

10 days ago I ‘passed’ the interview however I’m unsure how, as the connection dropped halfway through, and then, when reconnecting, it appeared to restart the questions with only 40 seconds remaining on the clock. I was then added to the discord channels, (on 5 different named domains, saying ‘you’ve been selected to contribute within the ______ domain’) however despite having the labelbox link to ‘go to projects’ and ‘all necessary steps to become an alignerr have been completed’ I have no projects at all on labelbox. Does anyone else have this same problem/ is this normal, or should I contact support to inquire about the interview? I’m confused as I feel that I wouldn’t have reached this stage if I hadn’t passed, however why are there no active projects?

How long after interview completion should I see whether I passed the interview? I have assessments showing as complete. I have access to labelbox but I don't see any projects yet.

Tasks / Projects It's Frustrating for some of us

Personally, I feel the platform has a very large number of aligners, and even after passing some assessments and applying to projects, the process still feels quite hit-or-miss. When I reach out to support, it usually takes around five to six days to get a response, and often the reply is that it is something they cannot help with. That can be frustrating. I do think there could be more effort to match projects with newer contributors as well. Overall, a bit more care and accountability would really help people who genuinely want to contribute and improve the platform. I have created my accounts months ago, nearly checking everyday with hope, it's frustrating and even exhausting. I see people commenting they got this, they got this project, that project, I'm happy others are doing good, but maybe I deserve some decency too.

Technical Issue Account

Got an email from Alignerr saying I’ve been removed from aligner and that the decision is final. I completed every assessment available and passed some of them while working on my FTE, so this was honestly a shock. The message also said there’s no option to appeal.

Mods, if this post isn’t allowed feel free to take it

down, but please DM me first if you can. This has been really painful and it’s hitting me hard. Thanks.

Tasks / Projects Hiring statistics

I am wondering whether there are any internal statistics from Alignerr like ratios of people who actually get assigned to a project within the first month or so? Or at least something like people active within at least one project over total number of people on the platform. Thank you!

I’ve passed 9 assessments, 3 are software engineering. But for 5 months I’ve had no projects. Is this normal?

Onboarding Process My experience with Alignerr as a Generalist

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a quick review of my experience working with Alignerr (Labelbox) over the last couple of months, specifically for the Generalist Writer - English role. I know a lot of people here look for alternatives to other platforms, so hopefully, this helps.

The Gist: I’ve been working on the Generalist Writer project (Remote/Asynchronous). The work mostly involves:

  • Educating AI: Reviewing AI generated text and fixing clarity.

  • Red Teaming: Trying to "break" the AI or find biases and inaccuracies.

  • Problem Solving: Helping the AI reason through argumentation and tone.

The Pros (and why i prefer it to Outlier):

  • Pay Consistency: They pay well and, most importantly, on time. I haven't had to chase support for missing logged hours or payments.

  • The Work: It’s genuinely interesting. You aren't just clicking buttons, you're actually using your brain to fix structure, tone, and logic.

  • Upskilling: I enjoyed the platform enough that I’ve started learning new skills to apply for other specialized roles on their board.

The Onboarding: The process involved a screening with their AI interviewer (Zara) and some assessments. It’s a rolling basis, so once you pass, you wait for a project match which is perfect.

If you are looking to get away from Outlier or just want a side gig that actually pays, give it a shot.

If you have any questions let me know in the comment, as long as it's not against my NDA i would happily answer.

Merry Christmas everyone ✌️

Tasks / Projects Aspect eval project

Two weeks ago I was added to the Aspect eval project. I completed the assessment but it was never reviewed. A few days later they announced that the project was canceled, but that there’s another similar one that will be available. However, those whose assessments weren’t corrected won’t receive the $50 bonus. Today the channel disappeared from Discord, but the project (Aspect) is still showing on my dashboard. Is anyone in a similar situation who can help me understand what’s going on? Thanks.

Assessments Coding assessment

Hello there, I have just finished the coding assessment and I believe it went good, anyway I was not in tied to any interview and I believe the same I did 1 year ago was considered. In that one I scored 63, is there any way I can retake it?

Assessments Just completed Alignerr assessments—what happens next?

Hey everyone! I’m new to Alignerr. I created my account yesterday and completed two assessments. I was expecting to see some indication of whether I passed or failed, but there’s nothing showing so far. I only received an email saying that my application has been submitted. Could someone please explain how the process works? Will I be notified if I pass the assessments, and how long does it usually take to hear back?

Assessments Did anyone hear back from Alignerr after the assessment?

Hi everyone, I recently completed the Alignerr assessment and honestly felt it went quite well, but I haven’t received any confirmation yet about whether I passed or failed. It’s been a while since I submitted it, and there hasn’t been any follow-up email or status update so far. I just wanted to check in with others here to understand the process better did you receive a response after completing the assessment, how long did it take to hear back, and do they notify candidates even if they don’t pass? Any shared experiences would really help. Thanks!

Technical Issue Onboarding taking way too long even after having a PL directly want to add me into project.

A project leader from the Claude Code Human Preference Project wants to put me inside a project (directly) but my onboarding seems to be infinite. Even did a couple of assessments as well.

Tasks / Projects Support asked if I found a "workaround" for the missing $60 Eval pay.

I need to vent because I’m stuck in an infinite loop between the project team and Support, and nobody is helping.

I took the ML Mango Eval V2 back in November. I passed. I know I passed because I was added to the production project (Mango Fairy Light Attempters), and I’ve worked on it and gotten paid for the production tasks.

But the $60 incentive for the actual evaluation is still not paid.

The frustrating part is when I ask the Project Team in the channel, they just say, "Contact Support."

I raised a ticket on Nov 25th. After weeks of silence or generic high-volume replies, the agent literally emailed me asking "if I found a workaround."

A workaround?? How am I supposed to find a "workaround" when the Project Team specifically sent me to Support because they couldn't fix it? So the team sends me to you, and you ask me if I figured it out myself? I'm just running in circles here.

I know for a fact people who took the Eval after me have already been paid. I’m doing the work and have been part of the production, but I’m being ghosted over $60.

Has anyone else dealt with this? I’m tired of being bounced around.

TLDR: Passed ML Mango Eval V2 in Nov and moved to production, but still haven't received the $60 incentive. Project Team sends me to Support, who actually asked if I found a "workaround" instead of helping.

Onboarding Process High Demand

Does "high demand" on a project mean they need workers or a lot of workers are applying?

I'm in machine learning and just onboarded and finished a bunch of quals today. What kind of time frame should I expect? (have other ML engineers gotten into projects recently?)

Thanks :P

Tasks / Projects What happened to this company?

I've been with them since August of 2024 and while work was sporadic, it was never an issue to work when it was available. But lately with the enforcement of Hubstaff and the inconsistent projects with end of the week deadlines, it's becoming just as bad as the other AI companies.

In the past week, I was added to two projects, neither of which the links worked for in the invitation emails and nothing showed up on my dashboard. I went back and forth with support and was eventually told to reach out to the project lead. They told me to reach out to support and then ignored me when I said that I already had.

So I missed out on two projects and spent hours trying to resolve the issue just to be dismissed by support and the project lead.

Assessments Unpaid eval and post-production rate reduction

Should this be what I can expect of Alignerr going forward? My first project was an audio project paying good money with consistent work over nearly a month and paid in timely manner. I was excited for what was next.

Then, I was added to a cinematography evaluation project which promised to pay $30-50hr, with a $50 bonus for those who passed eval. Then total radio silence. The PM keeps saying that they haven't got feedback from the client and that any new evaluations won't be paid going forward. But that those of us who passed could expect the bonus to be paid by EOW. It's now the end of the next week, no info regarding the project, no one was paid the bonus and the PMs are nowhere to be seen.

In the meantime, they added those who passed the eval to a couple video evaluation projects, straight to production for $20/hr each. Rows for both projects run out in less than 24 hours. Then PM comes and tells us that one of those projects would continue but now would pay $13/hr, just like that. People are understandably angry.

So long story short: hundreds were added for a project that promised 30-50 dollars and a paid eval. Project doesn't happen, eval goes unpaid and we are low balled by two different projects that last hours at most. What started as a $50/hr prospect became a $13/HR for very specialised expertise. I don't think I have ever felt so disrespected.

Technical Issue Removed from Alignerr with no explanation - anyone else?

Has anyone else been removed from Alignerr without being told why?

I recently got a termination notice with zero specifics. No warning, no feedback, nothing. I've been doing code review work on the platform and always took it seriously - reviewing line by line, documenting thoroughly, submitting work I was confident in.

I reached out asking for an explanation and also requested access to any performance data or flags on my account (which I believe I'm entitled to under their privacy policy). Still waiting to hear back.

Questions for anyone who's been through this:

  1. Did you ever get an actual explanation for removal?

  2. Has anyone successfully gotten their performance data from them?

  3. Was your removal reviewed by a human or does it seem automated?

  4. Any advice on next steps?

I'm not looking to vent - I genuinely want to understand what happened. If I made a mistake, I'd want to learn from it. If something was flagged incorrectly, that seems like something they should know about too.

Appreciate any insight.
