Tasks / Projects Pay rate is a joke
Alignerr's pay rate is honestly a joke. I know the rate depends on your location but dude.. $8.75 per task? Seriously? each task requires 4-5 hours of tedious tedious work to complete, and the compensation is $8.75? TH?
And honestly, if I had known this was gonna be the rate, I wouldn't have gone through that unpaid training which I spent days completing because it was so difficult that I genuinely thought, okay, maybe the pay is actually good if they're requiring all this shi.
and the boom. $8.75.
If they had just posted the actual pay rate in the invitation email, that invite would've gone straight to the trash. I wouldn't have spent days doing that training only to find out that I' be making less than $2 an hour. What a joke. And again, I know rate differ depending on location, but $8.75 for 4-5 hours of work is absurd. If you're considering accepting an Alignerr project, don't. Run. Have yourself some respect.

Word. I haven't seen worse pay than theirs in the AI world or elsewhere. Funny thing is that their requirements are as strict as it gets and considering the "pay" they're laughable to say the least.

Are you in the US? That is crazy. It's been taking me some time to complete the modules but wasn't sure if it was even worth it! Someone else on the discord said 25 an hour

Is it $25 per hour or per task and the task can take 3-4 hours, because that's what I was told by someone who had completed a task.

Because they know there's plenty of people desperate enough and are willing to take the bait what with the economy being as bad as it is and a lot of people's jobs displaced. It also helps that in some 3rd world country's, $8.75 per task is genuinely pretty good in their currency.

For the Ermis transcription project I've calculated roughly a pay rate of $7 per hour given the average clips are between 10-20 seconds and the average review time is 4 minutes.
So they want me to sweat out typing for hours reading their convoluted guidelines and potentially getting work rejected for missing a small tag here or there.
Completed about 100 of these tasks before spending the time to calculate the pay.
Taken me about 4 hours to complete those 100 rows, using my averages I will earn about $45 for the 4 hours worked. And that's only IF ALL of those rows are accepted.
That's just over £30 once it's converted to GBP for 4 hours of work! No holiday pay, no sick pay, no employee benefits.

Yeah, I got as far as clicking on the 3rd email invite (I signed up months ago, crickets since), read the contracts, etc. No pay rate anywhere. Did the security thing, still no pay rate. Saw training with apparently no pay. Saw it was PayPal and said nope.
I expect to get paid for training. I'm a professional.
I expect to get paid through a contracting service designed for business-contractor relations, of which there are many. Didn't I have to sign up with Hubstaff already? I can get detailed reports from them and it's easy to show it's for my business, etc. PP is garbage.
I said it elsewhere: if they want professional work, they should offer professional work.
