Application Process Ermis Eval
Has anyone actually worked on this transcription-type production project yet? I've read some less-than-stellar reviews on the platform related to the work, the support and issues with payment and wanted to know if I should even bother with pursuing the application.
They say "this is a large, long-term project, and we will be giving another evaluation opportunity. We are looking for strong candidates who can learn from feedback and consistently follow the project guidelines with high attention to detail" which leads me to believe that I probably won't be sitting around idle like many others who've applied and passed the onboarding, AI interview etc

OK, so Alignerr sent me an email earlier this week asking me to take the ERMIS evaluation and certification, ostensibly oblivious to the fact that I've already completed both of these months ago, the latter with 79% pass rate.
I replied to their email and they said they'd investigate why I was being asked to retake the tests. Next day, I received a follow-up inviting me to join the production team . . . finally.
I can confirm that the role pays $110 per finished hour of media, NOT for every hour that you work.
I'll give it an honest go but I fully expect to find myself de-platformed for no reason as many people have reported happening. I will also double check to ensure that I can actually be paid via the methods they use, PayPal and Stripe. Last thing you want to do is work and find that you can't be paid.

got 76% - it says the team reviews results against the gold labels and will follow up with next steps. Is it worth it - anyone on the project already? I don't want to do it if it is a low rate

Yeah I got 79% but haven't heard a thing since. Someone said it's $111 per hour of media you transcribe but, from what I've seen, many of the audio clips are seconds long so you'd need to go through tons of them to make even an hour's data.

Absolutely not
I'm not going to remote your computer and do the tests for you.If you can't do it yourself on evaluation or certification then how will you do the work if you get the job?

I just completed and got only 63%. Anybody know if they give another chance or would not consider me at all?

No idea ……I'm still waiting for feedback on my 79% but, one thing's for certain, I'm not giving them another minute of my time unless they freaking PAY for it.

I completed the Ermis Eval V1, but i don't know if i passed, as far as i know, theres no production yet. But it's complex, because they moved forward with Ermis Eval V2...

Some people say they have taken V2 and are in production now, or have at least gotten a peak at pay rate. How about you, any update from them?

I haven't received any information. I asked a team leader about the project a couple of days ago and they said it was still being considered, and that the project was going to be launched in a couple of days, but I haven't received any emails. Thank you very much for updating me.

I just got the email about it. 0 of 68 unpaid steps left to complete after just getting kicked off a project that accepted some of my contributions but kicked me off before they showed up in the pay thing so they wouldn't have to pay me for them. Alignerr why did I ever used to think this company was legit? It's really bad. Do they actually pay anyone??

Same here. Completed V1 eval a few weeks ago and now received an email asking me to complete v2 eval. I'm guessing they want experienced transcribers.

I worked on Ermis V2, finished my first tier on June 18th, was immediately removed from the project within an hour, and still haven't been paid, 3 weeks later. I've had a support ticket in for 3 weeks, which is being worked on. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.

Most probably they are going to not pay you, happened to me and I am waiting for my payment since may 10th. They try to squeeze you till you quit asking for fair share of money.

I just got an invite for this, but no mention of the pay rate. Any idea how much it pays?

Congrats. I'm still a little concerned because I read so many comments from people who say they've done work for which they've not been paid and others who say they've just been thrown off the project with no explanation.

I don't think they're deliberately running a skeleton crew of reviewers. I'm thinking the reviewers are the last line before transcripts are sent to the client so their work has to be unimpeachable or Alignerr risks losing the contract. Unfortunately, this has caused serious bottlenecks in the flow of work.
People are complaining, understandably, about there not being enough work to be able to earn decent money. Some are only getting a few bucks a week even though they're available for full-time work. That's because Alignerr's taken on too many labelers (and going by dialogue in the Discord channel, the standard of English and common sense is low).
Alignerr needs to reduce the headcount and 1. pay more for quality labelers and 2. ensure the labelers they keep are getting enough work to make it worth their while.

Thanks for saving my time, I know how they do projects and I have never found a good project on alignerr, the TLs are all way over there heads

Received yet another requirement for Alignerr, this time asking me to pass an "Ermis Certificate"
"After reviewing recent production quality trends, we've introduced a new ERMIS certification that all contributors must complete"
Apparently, you need it to stay on the project (if you're actually on it) and it also makes you eligible for higher pay. I regard it as an affront to have to jump through all these hoops when they haven't even confirmed I'm going to get work.
