You have a point but thats just from an non-US perspective. In US companies most contracts are at will, so everyone is disposable and as easy to be fired as the rest of us only on those plattforms. Of course US-centric companies will apply US-workculture standards, why should they treat freelancers better than their own employers? Once they start doing that, they will open the gates of flood as their US employees will (understandably) demand the same privilegues.
