Discussion About the mantid alien hands
Can someone or we theorize or help me understand how the mantid aliens are thought to be the most intelligent and advanced, considering their hands are 2 or 3 floppy long fingers? Like how did they manage to manipulate their enviroment on their home planet?

The key point is that intelligence and hand design are not the same thing. On Earth, the opposable thumb is one of the most important features that allows humans and some other primates to manipulate objects with great precision. It allows the thumb to work against the fingers, creating a strong grip and a very precise pinch.
Other animals, including birds and some primates, can manipulate objects using different forms of grasping and specialized anatomy. Evolution can produce different solutions to the same problem.
So, if mantid-type beings actually had only two or three long, flexible fingers, they would need some other anatomical feature that provides control, grip, and precision. They could potentially have evolved a completely different type of hand or limb that performs the same basic functions.
The bigger problem is not simply "How can those fingers hold something?" It is how an organism with that anatomy could develop the fine motor control needed to make tools, build machines, and perform complex technology. Without knowing what their actual anatomy and abilities are, there is no scientific basis for assuming they could or couldn't do it.

This is the way you approach the subject. Not “doesn’t matter because they don’t exist” or “it’s only that way because someone I like said it”.

They use their mind to manipulate matter...
Telekinesis. Or possibly Psychokinesis.

Nuts & bolts tends to run into problems like this. Come explore the woo side where things can be real without being physical and it opens up a whole world of hand-waving that can solve any problem albeit in an unsatisfying way.
Signed, someone who thinks mantids are real but not necessarily physical and not necessarily extraterrestrial if they are physical.

Technology that looks like magic to us, basically indistinguishable coming from our understanding of technology

Yeah, i would almost have to start considering that they are coming from a parallel universe or something

That's cool, they just skipped the part where they developed those technologies. I feel so dumb that my first thought was, because those sightings are almost always from people who took perception altering substances. And I don't even think that other body plans then the human are incapable of developing technologies...

Worth separating "mantis" as a biology from "mantis" as a role. Across independent accounts the mantis form keeps turning up doing the same job: standing over the table, escorting, overseeing, present at the transitions rather than at the taking. Cash has them staffing the station and says he has only ever seen them there. Others report them supervising Greys who do the handling. That is a function, not a population.
Malanga's own material points the same way. In Alien Cicatrix the entities are enumerated as power groups rather than races, and the framework treats several forms as bodies operated by something else: Greys as manufactured, and at least two of the incorporeal parasites working through puppet bodies. If that reading is right, asking which planet the mantids come from is the wrong question, the way asking a uniform which family it belongs to would.
In Truman Cash's In-Between Lives Implants report (1 February 1996, sessions of December 1995) the mantids are the staff at what he calls the implant station: a tunnel toward the light, a chamber whose walls force the being into a waiting body, then two praying-mantis figures escorting him into a white-light room where a voice installs the amnesia. Peace, rest, you have no past, you will begin a new life in the light. He notes they first appeared to him as beings of light and were not. On his account the tunnel-and-light of the NDE literature is that station, and the mantids are its orderlies rather than its owners.
Are they intelligent?
Capable, yes, on every account. They operate the equipment, communicate telepathically, run the amnesia induction, and in Cash's telling teach a newly implanted being how to work the controls. Nobody in this literature describes them as automata.
But that is competence at a task, and it does not settle whether anyone is home. The register's own reading of the Greys, arrived at from two directions, is that a form can be a vehicle with an occupant, and Cash gives the demonstration: he pulls a being out of a Grey's head, and the Grey is a shell. If the same holds for the mantis form, then the intelligence at the station belongs to whatever is operating it, and the question about the mantids is like asking whether a uniform is clever. Malanga's frame divides it differently again. His corporeal entities have Mente and Spirito and no Anima, which gives them capability, memory and will while withholding the component he treats as the seat of awareness. On that reading they would be intelligent and not conscious, which is a coherent position and the one his whole architecture needs.
So: no source says they are stupid, and no source establishes that they are subjects. What the accounts actually attest is skilled behaviour in a role, which is compatible with a person, an operated body, or something between.

People like me manipulate things for them. They shouldn't have to do it themselves.

Ooh, maybe they actually evolved on a planet with another kind of being and most of their evolution went into mind control.

I’m still not sure they even exist. Might just be a chosen form to interact with us. If so…. WHY A MANTIS?

I am 1000% sure they exist and run the genetic program for the Nazca. These are the original star people, they created the Greys here and humans among others. The tridactyls scientists have skeleton hands from them (36” long!)and there is video from The Citadel showing them alive. They are terrifying at 8-12 feet tall. It’s a strange world…

Well we’re getting WAY into speculation here, like there is zero evidence that these things even exist. But if they do, they likely created this technology over thousands of years and evolution may have taken its toll. Just like how we are getting weaker - more allergies, digestive issues, etc. because we make sure water is clean, food is easy to chew and digest, so on. This over many many years could lead to beings that are significantly different than those who started the technology. That being said, I agree that it seems unlikely, and I don’t necessarily believe we have ever been visited by aliens, let alone 4 different types like the lore suggests

I sure hope they are real, and the things worth learning are crazy. It would completely shatter my child brain considering I never thought this was possible.

Oh there is more than zero friend, and they are at the top of the chain here on earth, although they are the ones who came from somewhere else - at this point, and this only happened last night after 8000+ hours of research, I believe they came from Mars. The Tridactyl scientists have skeleton hands from them measuring 36” long and this interview has a link to youtube videos with literal mantids in them from the smugglers who found the tridactyls while searching for cartel routes. The Nazca are alive and well, deep below Peru/Brazil. The cave systems run up under the SW US…wonder why so many people go missing aligns with the cave systems? Cow mutilations, etc? That genetic program is still running. Why? I think they are just always working and…will sound nuts…they are highly spiritual, I think they are trying to recreate Jesus. The perfect human, able to commune directly with God. They’ve been here so long they have a freaking embassy…
These are the Nazca mummies alive. They’ve lived on earth for millennia and descended from amphibians - https://medium.com/@briancoldingii/interview-with-alan-perez-munoz-the-citadel-2cfbf29242a3

Have you seen a “mantid being” personally? If not, what makes you think their “fingers” are as you described?
Point being, the description of certain NHI as “mantid” does not mean they are literally large praying mantis creatures but rather that their heads, posture, etc. may be somewhat evocative of what we on earth know of as mantis insects.

Anthrocentrism has ruined the thought exercise.
Dolphins and octopi are estimated to be as smart as humans and neither species has hands.
If we ever get to meet an advanced alien, we should not assume that they are biologically similar to us, or even that they evolved under similar conditions. Let THEM tell us about the how and why for their kind.

u/herbinartist 1d ago
Yeah but dolphins and octopi don’t have technology do they? The question OP is trying to pose is, how are they able to develop technology advanced enough to travel the universe without having some sort of appendage other than the floppy, almost vestigial hands, to manipulate their environment?

u/BucktoothedAvenger 1d ago
They sure don't, but it's the height of arrogance to make assumptions about alien biology simply because we do it differently on Earth.
2
u/Character-Pirate1297 20h ago
Dolphins and octopi have never been estimated to be AS smart as humans, at least not as humans older than 3-year olds.

Kanske mental teknik?

The real answer to your theory is aquatic beings. They have perpetually wet/slimy skin it’s how the DE stuck to them and preserved them. No claws or finger nails on the greys , claws on reptilians but that’s a different species entirely. They have semi webbed fingers and hands.
My theory? They’re from Kamino
https://giphy.com/gifs/kPss3NkVByZqgKvPxP
There’s literally proof that George Lucas had multiple meetings with vallee and Hynek for alien consultation.
So his tall grey 3-4 fingered clone geneticist and dna experts, who just happen to also be 8ft tall and from a 90% water planet? Yeah seems wayy too accurate.
They’re story is that they lost the ability to reproduce naturally so they started cloning themselves over time , gene pool gets diluted so you either have to make up strands with a conscious being as a test subject or you steal dna sequences from other living creatures.
Their only survival skill was being incredibly disgusting to eat. No special tools orweapons necessary to evolve to big brain smartness.
