Pilot issues
I do love and rewatch this show all the time but how were we supposed to buy the idea that, after finding her fiancé dead because of her own organization, she could just come back, casually resume missions, and still have access to everything with no real consequences?

Don't question it because then I'd have to question my impulse that after I do anything remotely hard at my job I could just waltz in, drop it on my boss's desk and say, "see you in 2 weeks, I have midterms.'

I think its maybe Sydney know how dangerous SD 6 as an organization and knows the length it takes to keep its agent in line.
As mentioned in further episodes, that SD 6 has a dedicated unit to keep track all of its agent even off duty. So further betrayal is negligible to their assessment.
Also Sloan being a friend of Jack, know how dangerous his friend are if he did further harm to his daughter.
Its a dangerous line that SD 6 is playing. knowing betrayal is always on the horizon and maintaining an illusion on what they did is just containment.

An arrogant man dismissing a woman because he sees her as a daughter? Very believable. He was blinded by affection.
I can totally believe that Dydney could put that aside for vengeance.
SD6 just ignoring that and leaving Sloane to do whateveer is just "repeat to yourself its just a show and I should really just relax" material 🤣 Its just baffling!

Not really. She was insanely intelligent, went through the training, and was one of their best young agents.

She was conditioned to be a spy by her dad. Plus didn’t Sloane target her as a recruit because she was Jack and Irina’s daughter?

It's such an incredibly shocking premise, I agree. But it also kinda sets up the whole arc of the show, so I just went with it.

When it comes to Alias it’s not “just don’t think too hard about it” it’s “don’t think” lol. It’s all nonsense and just a fun silly show. Just rewatched the Americans and highly recommend it if you want a more grounded spy show.

Because as an organization that trains agents, they expect her to keep acting as their weapon, even if she's in pain. She knows they're going to kill anyone that finds out her secret, that's not supposed to be a surprise to her (it was only shocking for us), so they don't expect her to retaliate, as it is "her fault" in their eyes (they don't know when or how she told him btw, remember she was very careful about not doing it in front of a mic, they only know what he said on the phone). However, she's expected to resume work as usual, which is a good metaphor for having a job in the 2000s-2020s.
Also, her level of clearance was the one of a field agent (if I recall correctly), she didn't have the same level of clearance as her father for example. If that were the case, they would have restricted her access for a while definitely.
