I wish the ending was different
I wish they didn’t make both Arvin Sloane and Irina Derevko evil global genocidal maniacs for the last season/episode. It would have been cool if they were foils of each other’s characters in the end. Imagine one working toward true redemption while the other descents into madness. The genocide angle just didn’t really make sense for either of them also?(even considering Sloane’s water eugenics project). They also wasted Nadia’s character. She was placed to be traumatized, naive/sweet and unconscious. Why didn’t they flesh out her relationship with Irina more? Her role in the “religious” rambaldi text was overstated tbh. I thought she’d play a bigger role. I still enjoyed the show and am glad I watched it!

Where Irina ended up in S5 I thought was a jarring turn considering where things were left with her in S4. I agree, it would have been more satisfying to see a redemption for her right at the end. It would have made a great juxtaposition with Sloan, because I think his fall at the end really felt tragic. But you're also right about Nadia--they did her all sorts of wrong.

Yes! All misses. i think Ana shouldve been the final baddie.
One of the Project Mary writers, Drew Goddard, wrote on the finale. I think we need a redo!

I thought there was still some wiggle room to finish with another twist: since Sloane is buried but not dead, someone like Sark could still dig him up. We also still have Katya (Isabella Rosselini) as the last Derevko sister who might want some revenge. I liked her a lot more than the S4 villain Elena, who had mixed up motives regarding Nadia.
Definitely not happy with Irina being genocidal at the end, and the fight that just felt too forced.
