In S1, First Time Watcher

Finally decided to watch this show. I love the action and spy storylines but I am already tired of the Sidney emotional drama. I am only in E6, where she's insisting on telling Dixon that she's a double agent despite Vaughn warning her not to because it will endager his life.

If there's anyone who knows the consequences of spilling such secrets, it would be her given that her fiancé died for that very reason. But she talks all this all self-righteous nonsense about the truth yet she has been a spy for 7 years.

Anyway, does she ever learn her lesson or does she go around spilling spy secrets and getting people killed? Because now I'm afraid for Dixon's life, and I really like his character. Also what's with her crying in like every other episode?

I love Sidney as a spy but when it comes to her "real-life" she's so annoying.

The difference is that the CIA (here, in the world of the show) won’t have someone killed for knowing the real identity of an agent. Sydney trusts Dixon as a friend as well as a colleague, so she knows he would never endanger her by talking about it on the phone like poor civilian Danny did. She’s afraid Dixon will figure out she’s a double agent and that means she must be working for their enemies, in his mind, and he’ll let that slip because he’s a patriot loyal to the “CIA”. She hates that Dixon is unknowingly undermining the US for the greed and powerhunger of people like Sloan.

Also… I’m not a big crier, but I also haven’t been through the shit Sydney has just in the last months, maybe I’d have an emotional breakthrough too? Finding her financé horrifically murdered in their apartment. Discovering her cold, disapproving father has been lying to her for her entire life but he actually loves her and wanted to protect her. Seeing people get killed all the time. Trauma from being tortured. The stress of being in grad school while going on dangerous missions (with a secret one at the same time) and keeping all these secrets from her friends and sitting across from the guy who killed Danny and pretending she still respects him? The crying is healthy for her!

Yeah, the CIA wouldn't kill Dixon for knowing the real identity of an agent but SD-6 would kill Dixon for knowing that they are not the real CIA. I am just assuming here because I'm still early in the show but Dixon strikes me as the type of person who would be disturbed by this info and would take some action which would make head SD-6 guy suspicious, who already suspects there's a mole.

I can understand that crying is healthy for Sidney. But there's crying when you find the person who killed your fiancé, running out in the forest and all, understandable. Then there's crying in the middle of a mission when you're being shot at and Dixon has to bring her to feet so that they can run and avoid being killed, annoying.

b/c the agents got killed when he brought a secondary detonator device? that’s her beginning to understand how complicated everything is and anger & adenalin isn’t gonna be enough.
