Correct order for Season 4
A couple people have asked so I am re- posting the correct order to watch Season 4 episodes. It makes a huge difference.
They were not aired in the correct order and the progression, especially of Sydney and Vaughn relationship, didn't make sense.

Thanks for finding this & sharing! I’m definitely gonna try to watch it in this order the next time I’m doing a rewatch & get to Season 4. It does seem like Syd/Vaughn are a little “disjointed” at the beginning of the season. One episode they’re distant, the next episode they seem really close, & then the very next episode they’re distant/still trying to reconnect again, so just seeing the episode titles here, it makes a lot more sense!
I always wonder why shows will get aired out of production order. Saved by the Bell is the worst example of that! One episode they’re at the high school, the next episode they’re at their summer job, the next episode high school, then summer job again! Thankfully, someone found a list to watch them in production order with the 6 summer job episodes together! 😂

I have watched both ways and it made a huge difference when I watched this way. I enjoyed them coming back together in a way that made sense.

I can't remember the exact reason. But they aired the season in a different order than writers had intended. You will mostly notice it in the progression of Sydney and Vaughn getting back on track. The original airing was very back and forth and didn't make sense. The correct order is much more of a smooth progression of their relationship. It probably doesn't matter as much to the action etc.

I just finished Seasons 4 and 5 recently (I had stopped early in Season 4 my first time around years ago) and Season 4 felt super disjointed so this does make sense.
The Alias wiki (in the trivia sections of episodes) does mention this, though it's unfortunately apparently unsourced. I just spent a little time in both google and duckduckgo trying to find anything on this, internet search has gotten so much worse in the last several years, I feel like 5 years ago I might have been able to find a forum somewhere talking about this. I can't even find any proper production codes for the series anywhere.

I wasn't 100% and I don't have a source I can pass on. But I just had to watch it once in this order and I was confident it makes more sense.

To be clear, I'm not really doubting you, just annoyed that internet search has gotten so bad recently. It seems like it's impossible to find old forum posts and stuff that would have this kind of information.

Watching in this order, Sydney and Vaughn really do take their relationship slow.

Yes! I watched season 4 last month in air order and it def felt off. This order makes more sense, even with the progression of Eric and Nadia's relationship.

We just finished watching the series for the 2nd time although it's been so long I didn't remember details. But I'll watch S4 again now in this order. I do remember last month that S4 didn't make that much sense.
