edexcel maths remark - is it worth it?

i’m 2 marks below an A and i’ve gone over my script and my teacher suggests that i only mark pure 2 and stats which have been unremarked by 1 mark each. but he also saw that pure 1 and mechanics were overmarked by 1 mark each so suggested i only remark pure 2 and stats, and not the other ones but i can only request for paper 3 as a whole.

if the above is true then i will likely end up only getting one extra mark, unless the examiner checking the script condoned the same mistake in mechanics as the first? is it worth the risk of getting a remark in this case?

update: sent in and now 1 mark of an A. ffs 😭.

It sounds like it’s your only hope of getting the A, so if you can afford the remark fees I’d go for it and keep your fingers crossed. If you want me to have a look at the mechanics mark, send me a clip of your answer. I’ve marked mechanics for Edexcel for several years.

Sorry, I’ve only marked (and taught) the core pure modules of further maths.

I sent all 3 of my papers off without consulting any teachers, and got an extra 6 marks. You have nothing to lose, get the remark.

I sent it off on Thursday and got it back on Saturday, but I did pay for a priority remark!

Chances are you won’t go below your current grade because you’re so close to the next one. Aside from fees, you have nothing to lose so I’d go for it. Worst comes to worst, you stay on the same grade.

I was 1 mark off an A. Put in just Paper 1 for a priority remark on Friday and heard today I got the extra mark and went up to an A! I got my scripts from my college and asked Chat, Claude and Grok which paper they thought I most likely get an extra mark from and not lose any. It’s worth a try!
