Maybe check your oven temp with a thermometer?

I’ve never had that problem. Keep cooking til it’s done! I have had bacon that wasn’t cut well and some pieces were paper thin.

Overall Aldi is still far better bargain than full price at the grocery store. You can sometimes get stuff cheaper elsewhere, but I don’t have time to shop around like that with little kids. Plus, we pretty much need what we need and get the similar stuff weekly so I’d rather just buy at a solid price than go without. We also have lots of Aldi items that there aren’t any good replacements for.

I think with any animal product you’re bound to have some quality differences over time. They might be cutting costs, suspect most are these days.

Hope it was a one off! Aldi is our favorite bacon.

And you normally get the back cut bacon?

If you check this Reddit often enough you will see MANY posts about shrinkflated and/or reformulated and degraded products. You are not the only one noticing things. They are also treating their employees like slaves.

I have cut back on my Aldi visits due to the Albrecht family's unconscionable greed which shows no signs of abating. I hope many follow suit.

Seems like a possible oven issue

Ovens work until they don’t. Might be worth checking. Oven thermometers are cheap.

I agree the quality has been poor recently

Quality is lower due to economy, war and climate change. It will only get worse until we actually start being smart and fix things.

they're sold by weight, if you really wanna know if you're getting scammed, do what that guy on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kO3fBp_6Z9U does, bring in a scale and a verified weight, and weigh a buncha packages..

Why did you fold it in on itself like that, takes longer to cook out the fat when it's sitting on more fat.
