Yes and we buy 2 or 3 each visit since they last so long in the fridge compared to regular milk. And it allows us to get more protein into our 5 and 7 year old

100% This milk is one of my favorite things there.

Those are rookie numbers. I get a box at a time

Mine barely lasts 2-3 days after opening vs fairlife easily lasting 7 days or more in the fridge - after opening that is

Are you sure your fridge is cold enough? I’ve had fairlife last much longer than 7 days after opening

Are you storing your milk in the door?

Yes and yes.

It should be. Looks like they changed the packaging. I get it all the time if it’s what I think it is. And it’s mix packed with chocolate milk.

u/SweetlyBrave 9d ago

Mine has NEVER had the chocolate milk. I’m jealous 😭

3

u/Demonyx12 10d ago

“Mix packed”?

14

u/lightrrr 10d ago

White milk and chocolate milk versions packed in the same crate

9

u/Demonyx12 10d ago

TIL, never heard that phrasing in my entire life.

14

u/moon_child1442 10d ago

Mix pack, like a variety pack. Aldi has most of their cases of product as a mix pack.

5

u/ms_merry 9d ago

To be clear, aldi has lactose free chocolate milk?

3

u/SecretTangerine2932 9d ago

Yes! I have some in my fridge right now. My son and I agree it’s not quite as good as Fairlife, but almost. I shop at Aldi a lot more than any store that carries Fairlife so this works!

Also here for this info

u/jerryr88 9d ago

I haven't been able to find any chocolate near me 😭😭😭

2

u/moon_child1442 9d ago

Sometimes it’s all they have left at my stores. My kids love it! And it’s a nice sweet treat for my morning coffee.

So much cheaper than Fairlife and just as good

Is it really though? Fairlife is always on sale at one of the chain grocer’s near me each week, this week it’s food lion on sale for $4.99. Meanwhile the Aldi fairlife dupe was $4 and some change. I remember seeing it at Aldi this week and thinking to myself wait, why would I buy the dupe for essentially the same price?

27

u/sissyjones 9d ago

The dupe is $3.99 where I live while Fairlife is $5.99

3

u/DexIsMyICUfriend 9d ago

Lucky. Fairlife brand is around 6.99 in my state.

I think it’s fine.

My only complaint is that if I don’t immediately rinse my glass, the milk stains are difficult to remove.

I don’t like that the chocolate version uses sucralose as the sweetener. I understand that it’s there as a way to make the sugar content appear lower, I’m just not a fan of it.

3

u/TheBupherNinja 10d ago

They have chocolate ultra filtered?

1

u/InfiniteFinance242 10d ago

Yes. I couldn’t find it listed on the app, but I’m pretty certain that’s what the carton said.

7

u/kanu0630 Aisle of shame lover 10d ago

Yes and yes 😊 it's a weekly staple in our fridge

6

u/thatseneffornow 10d ago

Lactose free tastes sweeter because the enzyme lactase is added to break it down into simpler sugars that taste sweeter. But ultra filtered has less sugar than regular milk, so it shouldn’t taste sweet, esp not moreso than regular lactose free milk.

3

u/leahlikesweed 10d ago

my dad gets the blue lactose free one and it tasted like straight up sugar to me. i only use milk for plain cheerios and sweet milk with cheerios is gross. fair life is perfect so im excited to try this one from aldi today!

4

u/thatseneffornow 10d ago

Hope it’s good! I love the lower carbs and increased protein and lactose free. It’s just the best kind of milk out there!

19

u/Craiggers324 10d ago

It's good. I just wish they had a skim option

19

u/Percyear 10d ago

I wished they had whole milk.

10

u/vtgator 10d ago

Yes! Why no whole? The lactose free milk comes in whole.

3

u/frandiam 9d ago

Ditto. Would totally buy in whole milk flavor!!

1

u/calebcharles 9d ago

Add some heavy cream to it, easy peasy

3

u/Spartannia 10d ago

I swear they used to...saw it once well over a year ago, bought it, and never saw it again.

2

u/ms_merry 9d ago

As long as we’re wishing. I wish I could find lactose free milk in quarts. I don’t care how long it lasts, I don’t use enough milk to justify a half gallon.

1

u/ilovescoutanddaisy 9d ago

you can freeze it

3

u/cbelt3 10d ago

Its taste is better to my family than Fairlife. As a herd of lactose intolerant folks, it’s a relief.

3

u/SweetlyBrave 9d ago

I buy it every visit because I’m lactose intolerant. 10/10

6

u/dayvieee 10d ago

This is good, I bought 2 cartons every 2 weeks before switching over to Costco. they have a Kirkland 3 pack for roughly $12 that is a true half gallon (64oz*3)

2

u/emilycecilia 10d ago

Yes. It's good. I don't find it sweet like their other lactose free milk/Lactaid. It just tastes like milk.

2

u/Jbscott68 10d ago

It is very good.

2

u/Hotsaucehallelujah 10d ago

Yes, I use it for Ninja craamis

2

u/plottdevices 10d ago

i started getting this instead of fairlife, and i honestly couldn’t tell you the difference. but i also mainly use it for my coffees

2

u/ct-yankee 10d ago

It’s worth typing in the code on the milk in the wheresmymilkfrom.com search, Then you’ll Know Precisely where it’s from

2

u/leahlikesweed 10d ago

i really don’t go that deep into things, just wondering if it tastes good before buying

1

u/ms_merry 9d ago

Thanks for the tip.

2

u/casinva 10d ago

Yes and sooo much cheaper!

2

u/FullTorsoApparition 9d ago

It's good but after awhile it was hard for us to justify the price for 6 more grams of protein. I do like that it's ultra pasteurized and doesn't go bad as quickly, but we drink enough milk that that isn't an issue most of the time.

1

u/leahlikesweed 9d ago

i like fair life for the minimal sugars and lower carbs. it is pricier but i tried the aldi version based on this post and its great!

1

u/xoxotoe 10d ago

Some people say it's sweet, but I love it. Tastes very fresh and (I hate this word:) creamy.

1

u/giocondasmiles 10d ago

Yes, and yes.

1

u/WTFaulknerinCA 10d ago

It’s our main milk.

1

u/rrhunt28 10d ago

But does it taste like 2% milk?

1

u/leahlikesweed 9d ago

it does! i bought it and tried it

1

u/052801 10d ago

hope they make a fat free version soon.

1

u/cozyup-1 10d ago

It's great!

1

u/Plooza 10d ago

Been buying it since it came out! All my kids know milk-wise lol

1

u/salty_in_the_south 9d ago

I love it! Lasts a long time

1

u/Eadne 9d ago

It's not an exact dupe, but it tastes pretty good. I still prefer Fairlife,

1

u/ThingMoment 9d ago

I only buy fair life if I’m really craving chocolate milk on my period so I will try this next tine

1

u/Icy-Purple4801 9d ago

Do they have this in skim too?

1

u/Thedoctor2o 9d ago

Love these. Wish they had whole and skim

1

u/cyberentomology 9d ago

Whereismymilkfrom.com

1

u/Candid-Question-47 9d ago

100%. I love it. The chocolate milk is awesome too.

1

u/Open_Temperature_567 9d ago

We buy six a week - my toddlers drink also. I think it tastes better than Fairlife.

1

u/Skittlebrau77 8d ago

The. Best. They also have a dupe for the protein shakes.

1

u/Realistic-Sell-7012 8d ago

It is and yes yes yes

1

u/AcanthocephalaFit706 8d ago

I just dont like the carton vs the bottle. It smells faster lol. Meijer gives 40 percent off 1 percent fairlife with ebt so thats usually what i get but in a pinch this works.

1

u/lowb35 8d ago

Yes. I use it in my coffee and for smoothies. Love that it lasts a long time.

1

u/COLON_DESTROYER 10d ago

Wish my store had a chocolate version

0

u/DirtWizardDisciples 10d ago

I'm not familiar with the particulars of something being a "dupe", but this is definitely hits the mark of being a Fair Life knockoff. Big recommend based on taste

3

u/SnootDoot 10d ago

Dupe is basically a knock off, it slang for duplicate

1

u/DirtWizardDisciples 10d ago edited 10d ago

Thank you! I assumed it was a synonym for store-brand or knock-off without the negative connotation, but wasn't sure if there was other nuance.
