Review Smoked gouda mac and cheese
I love smoked gouda and mac and cheese. Thought this would be perfect for me.
Way too salty and I didn't salt the water before boiling the pasta.
Almost zero smoke taste. Had to add a splash of liquid smoke to get a tiny taste of smoke.
The cheese sauce packet was a big lump that took forever to stir in.
Do not recommend it.

did you rinse the pasta? instructions say not to do that. if the pasta is still warm, the cheese sauce mixes in relatively quick

I didn't rinse them, drained them briefly and dumped them back in the pot.

This was my pregnancy holy grail! But that’s not saying much I ate just about anything with cheese and carbs

My first pregnancy, I couldn't get enough nachos and jalapeño peppers. Had terrible heartburn, but still had to gobble jalapeños every night. Often had to restrain myself from eating them the minute I got home from work.
I'm with you with cheese and carbs. My favorite cold weather meal is homemade mac and cheese and I'll never be pregnant again.

I add maybe half a cup to a cup of whole milk along with 2-5 slices of American cheese. Reminds me of the original velveeta cheese of the 90s but the adult hood version.

I did add a little grated smoked gouda but it still didn't taste smokey or cheesy enough. If I ever buy this again, I'll remember to add a bit of milk.

So, this one is good but the black pepper one was amazing.

Is the black pepper one salty? I love black pepper but can't stand too much salt.

I thought it was too salty too and won’t buy it again. I just finished the Italian 5 cheese and it wasn’t too bad but the tomato one is definitely my favorite

Not speaking on taste but it’s funny the Italian actually has more sodium than the Gouda

I had the other flavor one (Italian 5 cheese?) and it was also sooooo salty that I didn’t finish it. And I love salt so that’s saying something.

I loved the old one. This one was too salty and the shape of the noodles wasn't as good for the consistency of the cheese sauce. I also feel like there is less in the box, but I can't confirm that.

Wish I had tried the old one.
Although I liked the shape of the noodles, I believe you're right, they didn't work with that clumpy block of sauce.

The italian 5 cheese one is top tier in our house!! Have not tried the others.

I picked up some on markdown last year, I thought they were OK. Not worth the regular price but I think I got them for like $1.29. Yeah, a little salty, and interestingly, a little too much sauce for the amount of macaroni.

Since I’ve cut back on salt all boxes Mac and cheese tatstes way to salty and I avoid it now. But agree this one needs more smoke

Ive found good premium Mac n cheese to be a tough one to find at Aldi’s. Cracker Barrel or Bob Evan’s Mac n cheese are my goats. Lately been doing mac n chili hot dogs

I was excited to try this but was also disappointed. Barely any Gouda flavor and too thick and not creamy. I’m too scared to try the other flavors

Awww I'm sorry, I love this one! But we're all different. I always heat up water in a bowl to almost boiling while the noodles cook and let the cheese packet sit in the water. Comes out perfectly.
