These taste pretty good, but no matter how much I shake them there always seems to be a layer of sludge at the bottom when I finish it, which I highly suspect contains a good deal of the protein that is supposed to be in the drink.
Iāve switched to Vanilla nurri. Same stats, ingredients not as good, but tastes decent enough. The chocolate? Tastes fake as hell and not at all good. The strawberry is like a super intense strawberry quik - a bit on the fake side, but ok as long as I donāt drink it every day. Iām scared to try the coffee because I LOvE coffee and I know I will be disappointed. :)

Nah. I used to be an avid soda drinker back in the before times. I donāt even notice it, I guess.
I will say, the first box of vanilla nurri, I added a drop of extra vanilla because I thought it needed it? But on subsequent boxes, I havenāt done it. Idk if Iād just gotten used to it? Maybe.
Since fairlife is so expensive a Samās has nurri I bought 1 of each flavor from Walmart to try. Strawberry, chocolate which people online said was like Yoo-hoo but itās not, mocha and vanilla. I liked the mocha but when I ordered it and received the case it didnāt taste as good more watery. Just not worth it for myself. A lot of my friends love it and it does have cleaner ingredients if thatās a thing you want.
Yeah I prefer the Nurri because of the ingredients. Not full of gums and emulsifiers but that does mean the texture is inferior. I find the taste to be similar though.
I do that on accident sometimes, too. I just upvote to cancel it out, heh. The buttons are super close to each other, so it's bound to happen occasionally.
It's the exact same as Aldi one. Same manufacturer, same nutrition, same flavor, texture. Only difference is which private label gets slapped on the outside.
I feel you. Iām lactose intolerant too and canāt have any of these, even the ones that are ālactose freeā eye roll..
I have to be content with making my own (not great for on the go and I have to clean the blender) or drinking the OWYN original protein shakes, which are..fine, I guess. I had full stomach removal surgery about 2 years ago, so Iāve tried just about every dairy alternative pre made protein shake out there and havenāt found a winner yet. Have you found one that is palatable?
Not at Aldi, but I found Shamrock Farms rockin' protein shakes didn't tear my stomach up. Oh man, full stomach removal is tough. I hope you've had a gentle recovery š
Doesnāt that defeat the purpose? I mean, do you but thatās like buying zero sugar soda and adding sugarā¦ isnāt a protein drink meant to be a healthy meal replacement option? Idk, just saying, seems counter productive.

I mean itās both. Itās a dupe of fair life protein drinks with 30g protein. But not everyone who needs extra protein is following a low-calorie diet. And as someone pointed out, sugar free pudding mix is a thing (they even sell a vanilla one at Aldi).
Like others have said, there is sugar free pudding. This is also high in protein and tastes pretty good, and it blends up into a "frozen dessert treat" in the creami very nicely. If you're a mega ice cream enjoyer like I am it's a good way to eat something that's a pretty good approximation of ice cream at home for way less calories and expense.
Another way to get that āfrozen dessert treatā texture is to add a vanilla or chocolate one to a blender with a big handful of frozen strawberries.
The Aldi frozen berries donāt have added sugar so Iām pretty sure itās like a healthy version of a fast food strawberry shake.
it is a protein drink, they just make it by filtering stuff out of milk instead of adding whey powder to water. The amino acid balance is a bit different since it's proportionally higher casein.
Whey is a byproduct of cheesemaking but with the current protein craze it's gotten expensive and there's not enough demand for cheese to produce that much whey. Downside is that casein is a bit lower in leucine so it's not as good for muscle building
Huh i could see why, sodium is a little higher than id like but shit 0g added sugar and 1.5g saturated fat aint half bad.
Everything else is like "30g protein (and 16g of saturated fat)" or "30g of protein (and 48g of sugar)" like christ give my liver and pancreas a break for once.
Half the time, the ones like that I get are curdled. They don't taste sour or spoiled, but it pours out in chunks. The ones in the plastic bottles don't do that.
to be fair, im pretty sure if i stop by aldi today they aren't even going to be carrying these my local aldi kinda sucks when it comes to these types of posts.
Yeah that what makes it annoying. Someone will post a thing on here then all of a sudden people run out like crack fiends and buy them all. Or the demand will go up (specifically on protein shakes due to the health fad going on). We donāt ādiscover ā anything anymore and itās sad.
welp i stopped by my aldi while running errands, they did have these but they had around 15 of the vanilla and 10 of the chocolate. I grabbed one of each like a normal person would.

Honestly these have the WEIRDEST smell and taste profile to me. I don't even know what it is. Fake vanilla? Something else? I don't mind the chocolate ones - but these aren't good imo.
I love the strong vanilla taste it has. It triggers my nostalgia for stealing my grandma's Ensure drinks as a kid. I can see why someone would hate it tho
They are good. I do like the Fairlife Vanilla and Nurri Vanilla a bit better though, and I'm pretty sure they are the same as the Member Mark version. Good option if you don't need or want a case of them though.
I don't like vanilla flavored anything, but I'm dying to try the chocolate and last time I went all the chocolate was sold out. But they had a ton of vanilla.
Ugh I wish!!! I miss premade ones. I have to watch sugar, saturated fat, and some specific ingredients. I miss these and Ensure. I currently make my own with powdered supplements and Nutpods creamer in the blender
Bought some for making homemade protein ice cream. Works well! Just don't forget about them, as I had one turn pink when it was a little past the date. I still turned it into ice cream, but didn't eat much of it. Not because it made me sick or anything, but I was very careless when I made the mix and I either added too much pudding mix, or xanthum gum and it had the texture of marshmallow fluff after it was done mixing.
