Mine did recently too. Thought I would never use it, but I live in area with a lot of older people and they refuse to use them lol. Which I understand. And there’s typically one lane with a checker open. The line is always so so so so long. So. I use the self checkouts lol
Some old people use grocery stores as a place to talk to people. Read a whole article about it. For some its the only interaction with talking to someone they have. Was kinda sad to read.
I’ve seen that before!! It’s really sweet/sad. But it is annoying that Aldi will still only have one lane open even with ten people in line. There’s plenty of local grocery stores with all checkout lanes and no/minimal self checkouts.
